DX REPORTS to KGA Spokane, WA (1510 AM) ////////////////////////////////
----------------------------------------

For several years KGA has been known as a notorious non-verifier.
The former Chief Engineer Mr.Gott did not care about reports and how it
showed up later, he picked up the return postage and threw the reports out.
However, about 15 opened envelopes with reports (and without return postage)
from the last time were saved and those correct ones among them will be
verified.
Mr.Gott:s frequent absence from the station caused many other problems,
of course greater than unanswered DX reports. This was the primary reason
Mr.JIM BINDER was brought to Spokane (ex CE of KBOZ Bozeman, Montana,
1090 AM).

Jim writes:
"The station (=KBOZ) changed ownership last year, and I would not work
for the new owner. The old owner offered me a job at their Spokane
facility as Chief Engineer of KGA (1510 kHz), KJRB (790 kHz), KAEP (FM),
and KDRK (FM). I took the job on a temporary basis, wishing to remain a
Montana resident. Part of my duties here includes DX Report
Confirmations, which I am trying to expedite. I am nearly caught up on
a backlog of fifteen reports from the current cycle.
Then I will begin to work on the KJRB DX Reports, also about a dozen.
We have established a policy that DX Reports must be sent by post.
DX Reports via e-mail are not acceptable. My e-mail messages to those
who have sent in reports are not Confirmations, per se, but a courtesy to
the senders who have included their e-mail addresses, because of
the recent delay in preparing and sending Confirmations. Photos of the
reporter and their equipment are always welcome. You might want to
mention the following information to fellow DX'ers: It is not necessary
to send an envelope or an address label. I do welcome cash or U.S.
stamps for return postage. Our standard confirmation weighs about 0.8
ounce. The postage is $1.00 U.S. An international reply coupon (IRC) is
only good for one-half ounce, and it necessitates a trip to the local
post office to convert it...."

If you have any unanswered reports of KGA, do not delay, because Jim:s
job as a staff-engineer at KGA (not a CE as offered earlier)
is on a temporary basis only and it may end as early as mid-April.
You can resubmit also your older reports.

GOOD DX !!!
