Hi there Folks
Great being back this week with The WEEKLY. I am still a little sore
from last weeks encounter with a woodern power pole etc.
Tonight broadcast is going ahead as outlined in last weeks weekly with
relays from: KFM - UK , Radio Dr Tim - Germany, and Jolly Roger Radio
Int - Eire.
We hope you enjoy these stations.
When writting please enclose return postage.
The addresses for these stations were also mentioned in last weeks
WEEKLY.
Starting the news today is :
============"RADIO FREE LONDON..Raided !!"============
Sunday Evening 20th April 1997
Sometime around 2200hrs BST, the mains cable that lead from a
motorway sign at a lonely and dark corner of the M25 motorway,
was found by a maintenance worker, who traced it back into
the nearby wood which was our new site. On finding the crates
that housed the transmitting equipment he then called the police
who then did a search of the wood and realizing it was a pirate radio
station, then called the Radio Investigation Service who removed the
it. Both transmitters, one twin cassette player, one earth rod,
two aerials and about 100 foot of mains cable which was buried under
the ground..............We lost the lot ! And it was nothing to do
with interference.
The saving grace is the fact that none of the crew were around at the
time.
The story did make UK Teletext and at least daily newspaper.
RFL is down........But not out ! It will be back in a months time.
The station has at least seven backup transmitters, which need a bit of
work doing to them, plus a rethink about the operation is needed.
THIS TEMPORARY EMAIL ADDRESS WILL BE DELETED WHEN THIS MAIL IS SENT.
Any mail to the station can be sent to the old address of
"RFLON@xxxxxxx"
which is still active. Also our friends at "Crazy Wave Radio" have said
they will receive mail for us and pass it on at "CWRSW@xxxxxxx". A new
contact address will be set up in the coming week for RFL, but will not
be given out on air.
This is a safety precaution as the authorities have the site tapes and
we do not know what action they might take.
A 30min programme telling the story about the raid will be broadcast
this coming Sunday via "Weekend Music Radio" from Scotland for those who
do not know what happened last Sunday.

RADIO MARABU via UKRAINE
PRESS RELEASE 21/4/97
BROADCASTS via HIGH POWERED TRANSMITTERS
BASED AT THE UKRAINE.
Due to problems providing the Ukrainian broadcaster with programmes, the
broadcasts of Radio Marabu via the Ukraine should start now on APRIL
23rd, on a "reduced rate" with programmes on Monday, Wednesday, and
Friday from 12.00 to 13.00 hours UTC .
>From Mid-May onwards the programmes will increase step by step to the
earlier announced schedule.

Just received in the post, the latest copy of CURRENT from AWR. They
now have a World Web Site at http://www.awr.org
This site contains all their worldwide frequency schedules/tx. sites
and latest frequency changes etc.
