			VOLUME FIVE - NUMBER THREE

May 18th.1997

Hello from KIWI RADIO.

Todays issues has a couple of VERY IMPORTANT announcements.

1:  In last weeks Weekly we mentioned that our next scheduled broadcast
     This NEXT Sunday - MAY 25th 1997 on 7475 khz USB from 07.15 
     USB.
     THE BROADCAST WILL BE ON THE 25TH.With relays from
     Radio Northsea International & Cougar Radio International.
     ( address details etc in last weeks weekly)

2:  KIWI RADIO will make a special "SHORT" broadcast today
     Sunday May 18th at 07.15 utc on 7475 khz USB, so not to upset
     anyone that got confused due to our error.

3:  IF you operate a station and want a relay via KIWI RADIO we NEED 
     your programmes NOW for the reasons outlined in section 4.
     Our mailing address is at the top of this edition of the weekly.

	~~~~~~~~~~~IMPORTANT NEWS.~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

4:  As of June the 29th 1997 KIWI RADIO will cease operations from it's
     shortwave Transmitters in New Zealand due to other commitments, and
     deciding to become involved in Broadcasting on FM LEGALY.
     The KIWI RADIO transmitters will be taken over by RADIO JEMIMA
     as of July 1st 1997.
     KIWI RADIO  will still be heard via relay both on RADIO JEMIMA 
     and any overseas contacts until approx SEPTEMBER 6th 1997
    ( which is the 20th Anniversary of KIWI RADIO ). When unless by
    special request no further Shortwave programmes will be heard from
    KIWI RADIO.

5:  It is hoped that we can continue to produce the weekly after that
date.

Now onto the only other bit of news this week to arrive:

        Thanks to all of you who have donated books to
the Cumbre DX Book Project.  Here are excerts that will
give you an idea of how badly these books are needed: :

 "the only WRTH available here is the 1984 
edition at the Jose Marti Library here at Havana".
                -Cuba

  "I have a great interest in your book project
because in Brazil is very difficult to find a World Radio
TV Handbook"
                -Brazil         

 "I simply cannot afford to purchase a copy
since its cost is very high for me.  Moreover; PWBR
isn't available locally".
                -India

We still have some unfilled requests from DXers in the following
countries:

        2 from Brazil
        2 from Ecuador
        1 from Argentina
        2 from Mexico
        1 from India
        1 from Colombia
        
        Please let us know if you want to donate a book.
