We are proud to announce for third time that the annual DX summer
meeting of Finnish DX Association will be held in Oulu, in Northern Finland.
The meeting will be arranged by Oulun DX-Klubi (DX-Club of Oulu), a local
branch of FDXA.
The Summer Meeting takes place on 1-3 of August 1997, beginning on
Friday afternoon, until Sunday afternoon.
Exact place is Virpiniemi Recreational Institute at Haukipudas, a small
village about 20 km's to the north from Oulu. And Oulu lies on the western
coast of North Finland.
Traffic links to Oulu are good: you can travel to Oulu from Helsinki by
air, train and bus. Oulu lies pretty close to border of Sweden, so you can
arrive via Sweden, too (i.e. border towns Haparanda and Tornio, about 125
km's from Oulu).
Almost 100 Finnish DX listeners are expected to participate in the
Summer Meeting. All foreign DXers as well as representatives of radio
stations are warmly welcomed to attend the meeting!

Leonard Hyde - 1805 Whipple Drive #27 - Blacksburg VA 24060 - USA - bigl@xxxxxxx

In past years, the traditional DX club, with periodic printed bulletins,
was all there was. It was fine for the times.
In the 1990s, the perfect forum exists to make the traditional DX
bulletin obsolete - the Internet mailing list. Why hasn't anyone thought of
setting one up yet?
The mailing list can serve all the needs that the old printed bulletin
does, with an important advantage - instant availability of tips.
Say I am hearing a rare DX station. I can instantly post this to the
list. Other members would have the tip within minutes.
The best thing we have now are phone nets and private e-mail.
I know there are many DXers wo do not have Internet access. That list is
shrinking. A mailing list could be a valuable adjunct.
An existing DX club could set up a closed list for their members only.
Or, some enterprising individual could set one up for the DXing community at
large.
I'd do it myself if I had the unlimited access and the software.

who was the first to log the station. there are numerous footnotes giving
additional information on name changes, frequency changes etc.

Much work has been but into making this not only a list of loggings, but
also an excellent piece of documentation of medium wawe broadcasting

We prefer to receive payment in form of a VISA authorisation to draw the
amount from your account. Remember to include your name, account number,
expiry date and the authorized sum in NOK, plus your signature.

We can also accept cash (NOK or equivalent in your own currency) included
with your letter, but cannot take the responsibility for lost mail!

We also accept transfers to our postal giro account 0804 5520960, BUT will
