    We are proud to announce for third time that the annual DX summer
meeting of Finnish DX Association will be held in Oulu, in Northern Finland.
The meeting will be arranged by Oulun DX-Klubi (DX-Club of Oulu), a local
branch of FDXA.
    The Summer Meeting takes place on 1-3 of August 1997, beginning on
Friday afternoon, until Sunday afternoon.
    Exact place is Virpiniemi Recreational Institute at Haukipudas, a small
village about 20 km's to the north from Oulu. And Oulu lies on the western
coast of North Finland.
    Traffic links to Oulu are good: you can travel to Oulu from Helsinki by
air, train and bus. Oulu lies pretty close to border of Sweden, so you can
arrive via Sweden, too (i.e. border towns Haparanda and Tornio, about 125
km's from Oulu).
    Almost 100 Finnish DX listeners are expected to participate in the
Summer Meeting. All foreign DXers as well as representatives of radio
stations are warmly welcomed to attend the meeting!

Just QSL'd XEJP Radio Variedades, Mixico C, 1320kHz, and the verie-signer
sent a whole packet of stuff by registered post. The thing to note is that
this guy can probably help QSL and Grupo Radio Centro station. His name and
address follow:

Does anyone have a full list of Grupo Radio Centro stations???

BTW, XEJP R Variedades did a frequency-swap with XECMQ Formato Viente Uno,
the latter now on 1150.

COMMENTS

The flood is over and a quick trip to the in laws was done. We were about
one month late for this first visit of the season. However the interest of
how we faired in the flood of the century gave us stories to fill the time
with. The new car radio is FAR SUPERIOR to the old Dodge radio. Nice to get
three foreign countries on a car radio even though we were 300 miles North
of Winnipeg. The DX site at Valhalla Beach has been wound up (antennas that
is ) so the farm can go on producing food instead of DX. Well fall is only a
few months away!!!!!!!!!!!!! Shawn

This is s the first part from a series of loggings made last week ( Frio-
Sun ) using 100 % with my LOWE HF150 - which continues to work with soem
problem ie high levels of noise and easy overloads by the use of the 35 m
sloped antenna

NOtices : This part has been made with LOWE and power inverter off to
prevent VERY strong noises from inverter ( 12V DC to 220 V AC ) to
completely wipe out the whole band

Werner Funkenhauser - funk@xxxxxxxxxxxx

I have uploaded WHAMFM.DAT in ZIP format to the BARC archives at Oakland.
This will accompany the AM WHAMLOG files that are already available there.
WHAMFM contains basic information for FM DXers. The file is a digest of
information found in the FCC's extensive FM database. It is a raw text file,
but has straightforward format:

* frequency
* Call
* City/Town
* Province/State
* Country
* Power (kW)
* Geographic Coordinates
* Horizontal Radiation Centre above Ground level (RCAGL) metres
* Vertical RCAGL metres
* Date of entry into the FCC file

This first release makes no attempt to check for duplicate or to age records
as is done in the WHAMLOG series. However, the file format will be improved
and as with WHAMLOG, regular uploads will take place.

Each record is fixed length and may easily be processed by database,
wordprocessor, or spreadsheet software. As with any text file, DOS commands
may be used to effectively filter, sort and print the data contained in this
file. Please check my Web Page (About WHAMLOG) for examples of how DOS
commands may be used to extract such information.
