It seems earlier in the DX-season than usual, but here near Seattle strong
signals from south asia have been appearing in the late afternoons the
last couple of days. AIR-Thiruvanathpuram on 5010 kHz has been the
strongest from as early as 0030 UTC with news and Indian music and lasting
past 0100.  Another station with Indian music on 4940 at the same time,
which I assume is AIR-Guwahati, and another on 4800, which I assume is
Hyderabad.  My DX experience during the upswing of solar cycles is
limited; I expect the higher frequencies to improve, but does the solar
cycle affect tropical band DX as well?  Anyway, seems a good start to the
season --
