*** COMMENTS ***

These logs represent receptions made at the same time the
1997 Newfoundland DXpedition was in progress. Al Merriman,
Bruce Conti, and some others also listened during this week:
they've submitted some interesting loggings. Now we're all
eagerly awaiting the results of Jean's and Neil's excellent
NF DX adventure.

*** DOMESTIC "DXtra": VERMONT NOTES / NOV 25 - 29 ***

The following night bandscan was done using a Sony ICF-2010
receiver and Quantum Loop. Receptions were on a family vacation
trip to the Smuggler's Notch resort near Jeffersonville, VT.
The area is surrounded by mountainous terrain and foreign
DX is vastly inferior to that obtained at coastal sites in
eastern Massachusetts. The report below was done in a brief
series of scans without serious attempts to analyze "jumbled"
channels. The only evidence of Trans-Atlantic DX was a weak
Libya-1251 het. Even St. Pierre-1375 was barely audible.
