Howdy all & welcome to PiPa#210! (This is just the cover sheet, PiPa #210
should either be an attached file to this or should follow right after my
own greetings & name). If you only get the cover letter & not PiPa#210, drop
me a line...it's happened a few X....
I'm starting to get a bunch of PiPa emails bouncing, so...starting with this
issue, I'll be deleting the addresses of those whose PiPas bounce back. If
you mysteriously stop getting PiPa, but still want it, drop me a line & I'll
get your name back on!
Hobby Broadcasting
It's ready! This PiPa is really late because I've been finishing the first
issue of Hobby Broadcasting. It's going to the printer on Monday & it should
be out within two weeks. It's 32 pages & has articles on FM pirating,
Getting the "chirps" out of your transmitter, radio syndication, news, music
reviews, etc.
Here are the new, revised costs: 1-year sub in the US cost $12 per year ($15
by surface mail to Canada, $19 by air to Canada & $17 by surface to Europe &
$25 to Europe by air).

The Last of the Pirate Radio Directories!
I'm not talking about the 1998 Pirate Radio Directory, which should be out
in a few months. The old 1989-1993 Pirate Radio Directories are almost
extinct. I just bought the last of the stock out from Tiare & no more will
be printed. Once they're gone, that's it. If you're really into listening to
North American shortwave pirates and want to read up on the history, here's
your chance. Each directory costs $6 (doesn't matter what year) + $2

ACTION RADIO TO RETURN IN 1998 WITH A NEW MAILDROP: A.J. Michaels of Action
Radio sends word that Action Radio will return to the air in 1998 after a
hiatus of a couple of years. If you hear Action Radio, reception reports
may be sent to Post Office Box, 641981, Omaha, Nebraska, 68134.

RADIO NONSENSE BROADCASTING ON 27500 KHZ Joe Mamma of Radio Nonsense advises
that he has begun broadcasting on 27500 KHZ USB due to increased solar
activity and improved conditions of the 11-meter band. He will also
continue to broadcast on 6955 KHZ USB. He is doing this to test the
feasibility of broadcasting on this band. The only problems at present that
he can foresee are possible QRM from CBers who want to shoot skip, but this
is why 27500 was chosen. It keeps him away from the 27.495 & 27505 channels.
He?ll be anxiously awaiting reception reports for these broadcasts. Radio
Nonsense will be issuing QSLs for these broadcasts, but they won?t be
special QSLs, just the same old crappy ones.

RADIO SAMORODINKA verified a reception report written in Russian after about
4 weeks time with a full detailed color printed letter! The German reporter
heard transmission No.247 (usually about the industrial disease in Russia).
Their correct address is: Leo S. Shishkin, Box 898, Moscow Center, 101000,
Russia! Their approx. TX location was the Moscow area and power was about
only 10 watts. Look for the station on Saturdays at 21.00 UTC on 3923 kHz.
It seems that the operator is able to read and write English a little bit!
RADIO MAXWELL will be back in April with a modified equipment. J.C.Maxwell
invested in an equalizer to make the audio sound better next time. QRGs in
the 76 mB (3945 kHz) and the 5805 kHz area.
