[HCDX]: Another Noise Source

Beware! If anyone is planning on adding a cordless phone jack you
had better check it carefully to make sure it is not emitting RF
interference.

I just purchased a Radio Shack version of this. After hooking it
up and verifying that it was working I then turned on my Amateur Radio
rig and tuned to the 17 meter band. Immediately noticed serious
interference, particularly between 18070 and 18080 kHz. Disconnected
the new phone jack and the interference immediately disappeared.
Needless to say this unit will be returned to Radio Shack for a
refund.

Have no idea if other brands do the same thing. Some might be quiet.
Also, I suppose it is possible I got a defective unit. Did not
tune around to see how widespread the problem was. What I heard on
17 meters was enough. Would be interested in any comments from
others who might have experienced this problem and would also like
to know if there are any in use that definitely do not cause any
interference problems.
