I don't know when they made the switch, but last Friday I noted during
my home-bound commute that KQPT-1470 is now KOME; ID'ed on the hour
with call ID, and uses slogans "Low Rider Oldies For Sacramento", and
"14-70 The Cruiser"

While playing around with the ham rig yesterday, I stumbled across
something new... a station on 1610 continuously looping "This is a
test by the Nashville Airport Authority on 1610KHz." I had occasion to
drive past the airport this morning, and the station is indeed located
there. On the car radio, it's only audible maybe 2-3 miles either side
of the airport, something I was quite surprised to notice given the
easy copy (though weak) signal here at home 35 miles away.
I would presume this will be one's typical arriving & departing flights
& parking instructions TIS.

forecast at 0705, Mostly Cloudy, lows mid 50s (Which matches the

One of my rare contributions. Locational circumstances mitigate
against new discoveries. Occasionally, however, I get out to a
friends's place on the Windward coast whence this nugget was uncovered
at the limit of the Superadio's upper reach:
1660 K??? UT 8/31 Oldies format w/ ABC nx noted @ 0305 EDT followed
by "weather for northern Utah" including the pollen count.
Lots of local spots and apparently live DJ giving 800 #
(800-659-1???) to vote for favorite tunes. Several partial IDs
including, "Broadcasting from the top of Utah." Assume this to
be the Brigham City CP mentioned in 3/98 DX Monitor?? Fair to
good signal on a good east night - just poorly timed fades.
Anyone got the call letters/power/s/on date?

Sorry 'bout all the UNID's but stations came and went quite quickly
that morning. No chance of an ID on most of them. This was a new site
for me and I only spent one night there but it looks promising for the
future. Scarborough is about 25Km South of Cape Town on the Cape
Peninsula. Signals arriving from both USA/Caribbean (North West)and the
reverse bearing to Aussie travel almost totally over the sea. The only
place in Africa where this is possible.
