1055- 4899.82- ECUADOR- La Voz de Saquisli 1055-1105 Noted steady Latin music. Man breaks in on the hour with a few comments, but didn't catch any ID. Then music continues. At 1103 full canned ID. Signal was fair but had CW and Voice QRM on it. Bolland, USA January 26, 1999)

1055- 4955- PERU- RADIO CULTURAL AMAUTA. 1055 - 1110 Jan.24 pgm: Revista Biblica. signature tune and ID at the 1101: ¨Esta transmitiendo Radio Cultuiral Amauta 4.955 kcs onda corta, desde Huanta la bella esmeralda de los Andes...¨ Into pgm in Quechua. (Rodriguez, Colombia )

1106- 5906.91- PERU- Unid., 1106-1126, Nonstop OA campo mx, finally anmnt by M at 1113 starting off w/"Amigos oyentes..." and mentioning "la hora" (TC??), programa, and possibly "...de Mayo". Back to mx briefly, then more tlk by same M 1114- 1117 w/poss. ID sounding like "R. Panaramo"(??), "??bamba", Peru, and possibly Pampa or "??bamba" again. There was more tlk w/mx from 1122-1125, but it weakened by this time. Have been hearing this since Hans mentioned it, but no audio until now. (Valko, USA 17 Jan.)

1108- 4879.22- UNID- Unid R. 1108-1130 Noted a man and woman in comments. Language was unfamiliar, but definitely not Spanish. Seemed more like an Asian language i.e. Hindi. This could have been India or Bangladesh, but off freq and neither schedule up at this time according to my outdated source material. Bolland, USA January 26, 1999)

1138- 6105.03- COSTA RICA- R. Reloj via R. Universidad, 1138-1205+, Tlk by M to 1140 w/ments of Costa Rica, into dance mx, more tlk w/R. Reloj ID, phone #. //4831.88. The M anncr sounded familiar at first but I didn't realize it was Reloj till later. Would've been easy without the lcl QRM. Het on 6105.12 came on arnd 1200, maybe Mexico?? (Valko, USA 17 Jan.)

1200- 6130- LAOS- LNR, Vientiane across top of hour 1200 with signature tune, Big Bells and ID by YL. Dominating CHNX but and this could have been best log of yet this year but noise levels were incredible. (Rippel USA 1/30)

1202- 11840- KHAZAKHSTAN- Radio Almaty 1202 (presumed) "ave maria", sung by woman until 1908, then announcement by man:"your attention please". "top of the world" sung by woman until 1914. another announcement by man. signal fairly clear but weak and barely readable during announcements. (Fine, USA 23 jan)

1214- 3324.796- GUATEMALA- R. Maya, @ 1214 dominating the frequency over the PNG. Long dissertation by OM anncr in presumed Indian language. (Rippel, USA1/30)

1215- 5981.06- GUATEMALA- Union R., 1215-1233, Nonstop rel. mx, W briefly at 1230, then M w/full canned ID giving SW and FM freqs and ment of "Union R., la voz esperanza". Very strong but severely distorted, although it seemed a little clearer when live M came on at 1233. (Valko, USA 17 Jan.)

1249- 21510- UKRAINE- Radio Ukraine Int'l 1249 In English with music program, hosted by woman. Usual freq list read by man at 1256. Nice signal. (Fine, USA 23 Jan)

1307- 11995- PHILIPPINES- FEBC Manila 1307 In English with country music programming. C&W songs interspersed with what appears to be interviews with country singers. Signal moderately erratic with QRM from signal on USB. Confirmed by Dave Onley as "Country Crossroads" program via #swl in IRC. (Fine, USA 23 Jan)

1328- 15200- IRAN- IRIB with programming in INDONESIAN ,gave tel numbers and in English a web site : <www.irib.com> . Strong signal though very low modulation 1328* (Liangas 17. Greece )

1335- 15625- UNID- VOSA?? Azeri type songs till 1335 then YL in Farsi with refs to Iran then hymn then sign off . Unclear ID at 1332 due to signal low ( sedaye bikurle batar??) 32333 (Liangas 16.1 Retziki Greece)

1414- 13820- USA- R Marti 1414-1455 with nice old Cuban songs , interrupted by small comments on the songs and more from man and woman ID on 1431 "esta es R Marti" Signal was poor (24232) but faded out on ca 1455 with great sounds ( nearly HIFI !) (Liangas 17.1 Retziki Greece)

1502- 5949.2- PERU- UNID PERUvian reported by Inoue in NU1502, Nigro in NU1504 and Johnson asking to Hauser in Radio Enlace-RNW I can´t listen in my DX location, monitored for various days and times from November but only noted WYFR in 5950 with strong signal. (Rodriguez, Colombia )

1528- 11625- GUAM- KSDA with ID by YL in EE at 1528 "This is Adventest World Radio broadcasting from the Island of Guam." QSL address in Hong Kong as well as WWW site was given. (Rippel, USA 1/20)

1549- 4370- CLANDESTINE- Radio Shargi Iran ( pres R Communist Iran) 1549 music similar to Chinese. Lang man on commentaries, many musical breaks . 1554 a song ID stated above at 1600 followed with hymn then siogn off (Liangas 13.1Retziki Greece)

1625- 5562- TURKEY- Radio Tibe /Nusandor / Presi Turk Radio 1625 with Turkish songs and small comments by man. ON 1700 with clock and then news in Turkish Next day 24 on 1500 with western songs New tune in 1758 with man in comments , small internal advertisement with "R tibe" , clock and news New tune in on 1930 but off. Signal: with the tuned 6 m : 34443 , with 15 m 44444 (Liangas 23+ 24 Greece)

1634- 5440- CHINA PR- Xinjiang PBS 1634 man and woman in uighur ON 1636 with folk music 34333 1645* This is for 13.1 New tune in on 16.1 with 1530 orchestral music and mixed operas and an uighur variation of 'Fur Elize' ID at 1602 in pres Kazakh , as not //4980(not Mong neither uighur) (Liangas 16.1 Retziki Greece)

1645- 7085- AFGANISTAN- V of Shariah 1645 with quranic verses , ID in Arabic "idaaatu sawt shariah", followed with news ended on 1650 hymns then news in English on 1657 ,1711* Good signal but dull sounds (Liangas 16.1 Retziki Greece)

1730- 4755- CLANDESTINE- "Shawt al shab el iraqi" // 3900 *1730 starting with hymns then ID as previous "menhayikum al shawt al shab el; iraqi" Both QRGS are synchronized . Then man into news/comments (Liangas 16.1 Retziki Greece)

1756- 11734.11- TANZANIA- V o Tanzania, Zanzibar in Swahili, 1756-1802, ; tlk, mx pause, ancmt, lcl instl mx, M ID & ancmt, other M nx. (QRM splat) F / P (Serra, Italy 01 27)

1800- 4870- CLANDESTINE- V of Mojahed 1800 gave the following two numbers told in english: 0049 221484768 and 221 488597 . Tested that day on all their frqs on 4630v fair with strong PCM jammer (?) , 4870v fair , 4420v fair , 5110 not , 5310 poor, 5610 fair and 5710 fair ( Liangas 16.1 Retziki Greece)

1800- 6950- CHINA PR.- R. China Int`l in German at 1800 hours but I did not hear them on the usually good frequency of 9920 kHz.I found them finally on 9710 kHz.Is this a new frequency or was it just a mistake? I looked in several frequency guides but could not find in these guides 9710 for China.At 1900 hours I could only hear China in german on 6950 kHz not on 9920 kHz and not on 9710 kHz because this channel was occupied by TWR broadcasting in an for me unknown language. 1830- 15120- NIGERIA- VOICE OF NIGERIA 1830-1900 Noted a man in English Language comments discussing local Nigerian musical selections. At 1844 a woman gives ID as "This is Voice of Nigeria..." followed by more music. Signal was good. Bolland, USA, January 26. 1999)

1830- 11734.1- TANZANIA- R.Tanzania-Zanzibar w/ AA Mx 1830-1859. Time pips then ID at 1900 by YL. Quite good and improving past 1900. (Rippel, USA 01/20)

1906- 3264.5- INDONESIA RRI(t) 1906 duet song , man speaking dully 1914 man speaking but too dull to identify either a lang. Signal too marginal (13131) (Liangas 16.1 Retziki Greece)

1930- 2338- BELARUS- Radio Mayak, Jan 15, 1930, USB: News in Russian with only parallels on Medium Wave found. Also on Jan 16 at 0530, again with news and parallel to 7400. Pretty strong signal. (Pijpers, The Netherlands)

1933- 2325- AUSTRALIA- VL8T; Tennant Creek, Jan 15, 1933, News in English, followed by a catchy unID popsong. Fair peak and parallel to 2310, but nothing heard on 2485. ( Presumed ). (Pijpers, The Netherlands)

2058- 6913.5- PIRATE EUROPE- Blue star Radio, Netherlands 2058 ID then with old germanic/hollandese songs in general and neww ID at 2158 giving also address and possibly internet address as { HYPERLINK mailto:bluestar@xxxxxxxx( }bluestar@xxxxxxxx( he did not spell however the internet address though he spelled the city Zwolle) . Songs continue and on 2215 the DJ gave again the ID and address Signal 43444 (Liangas, Greece Jan 23)

2228- 5856.8- PERU- NC RADIO NUEVA CAJAMARCA. 2228 - 2250 Jan.23 This station have a problems with the equipments. I noted in the las months en 3 differents frequencies; 5887.2, 5898 and now 5856.8 Khz always with distorted audio. ¨...NC Radio Nueva Cajamarca la incomparable...¨ ¨Nueva Cajamarca escucha a la original NC Radio Nueva Cajamarca...¨. ID at the 2315 : ¨Desde celendin transmite radio Moderna en los 4500 Khz onda corta , banda internacional, con sus estudios en Jiron Arequipa 323, 2do piso. 2330- 4845- MAURITANIA- ORTM, 2330-0000, almost all tlk by M and W. Even though R. Kekchi was underneath, I thought I hrd this in SP briefly at one point. Played some of the lcl stringed mx that's almost identical to their IS. Couldn't get an ID at ToH due to Kekchi fading up to equal lvl and mixing w/Mauritania. Glad to see them back on at this time on this old freq. (Valko, USA 20 Jan.)

2350- 5906.8- PERU- RADIO PANORAMA. 2350 - 0120 Jan.23 The peruvian noted in USA and tip via Glenn Hauser in Radio Enlace- RNW is Radio Panorama from Distrito Recopampa, Pvcia de Celendin, Dpto. de Cajamarca. It´s a new station formed for the brothers Miguel y Segundo Delabriore ( I don´t sure of the surname ). They Have another station in 1.400 khz named La Voz de los Andes, and Miguel is manager that, and Segundo of Radio Panorama. Slogan: ¨ Radio Panorama la Reina de la sintonia¨ ID: ¨Desde Recopampa esta es radio panorama la nueva radio que estamos saliendo en senal de prueba en los 5900 Khz....¨Off the air at 0120, not listen in the mornings. I don´t believe that Radio Panorama are religioos station. (Rodriguez, Colombia )

AUSTRALIA - Radio Australia will conduct a test transmission on Sunday 14 February to evaluate propagation of 21 MHz into South East Asia during their local evenings. The test is from the Shepparton transmitting facility, and will be on 21710 kHz at 0900-1358 UT. The target areas are SE Asia as well as Central & Western Europe. BULGARIA - R. Bulgaria will stop broadcasting in Spanish March 27 for economic reasons, reports Mario Pace, YV4FCU on the YV2FSW DX net Jan 17. COSTA RICA- Joe Bernard announced this revised RFPI frequency schedule Jan 22 at 1900, repeated Jan 23 at 0300 just before COM: 6975 0000-0800 (weekends -1200); 15050 expanded to 1300-0300; 21460-USB 1200-0300 (Glenn Hauser, WORLD OF RADIO 974 / GH SHORTWAVE/DX REPORT 99-05, Jan 28) --- Our CONTINENT OF MEDIA's new time on RFPI, Tue 2000, is not supposed to be repeated Wed at 0400, but did appear Jan 27 when Pacifica News was not available; and promos also say it is repeated 16 hours later, i.e. Wed 1200 on 21460-USB. Let's call these "irregular repeat defaults" (Glenn Hauser, COM / GH SHORTWAVE/DX REPORT 99-05, Jan 28)

COSTA RICA- RFPI's sporadic Spanish noted back Wed Jan 27 at 1345 with RN transcription reviewing 1998, both on 21460-USB and 15049 which had continuous audio breakup problem. Then paz monologue by Willie Barrantes, and at 1530, the nominal Mundo Radial time, another DX program instead, Radio-Enlace transcription from R. Nederland, which may or may not have included a DX news segment from us - but we'll never know as both frequencies dumped off a couple minutes later. Spanish again at 1330 check Jan 28.
