RE: [HCDX]: QSL Cards from Indonesia

Enzio:

The Indonesian stations are in general good verifiers--Indonesian language
is generally a must. There are some(RKIP), Jakarta, Ujung Pandang, and
Malang, are exceptions--of stations that you can get to verify to EE
language reports. However, you are asking them to provide a service for
you--in almost all cases other than the FS broadcasts reception reports in
EE are not addressing a station need. Therefore you assist them by writing
in Indonesian, and you also probably increase your chances for a reply.

I have had good success, and part of this success has come from using
prepared cards. I have over 50 of the stations verified with letters AND
a prepared card, although in the "golden era" of Indonesian verifiers(the
70's and early 80's), the RPDK stations had great QSL folders and cards.
The card from RPDK Banguwangi was a classic. Sometime I must write an
article on this period....

Thanks to all who sent notes re Indonesia. It is still a great
country(some economic problems), but nevertheless a great DX target. Where
else can you find low power stations on 120 meters with independent
programming with such exotic music? I am sold and when you listen you will
be too.....

Hormat saya
