Yesterday I received after 27 weeks about a QSL from Harbour
Light of the Windwards-1400.
They have a new printed QSL card, with personal letter, and a
lott religious Info,(beautifull stamps on the envelope).
v/s was John McPherson, Engineer, he wrote me:
Using a 5kw Nautel transmitter, Antenna is a quarter-wave,
series-fed, monopole 55 meters in height with a above ground
tuned radial ground system that uses only 4 wires 55 meters
in length perpendicular to each other and raised 5 meters
above the ground for freq 1400 Khz. The computer models
show that it is as good or slightly better than the con-
ventional ground system with 120 radials buried in a circle
around the tower. With this system it is easy of intallation
maintenance and low costs. Using a standard ATU (antenna
matching unit) for matching the tower to the transmitter.
Primary coverage (0,5mv/m) area includes a 300 km radius.
Relaying the news from the VOA and the BBC, format is
everyone already knows,religious.
On Carriacou are living about 7000 people on approx. 8560
square acres, with scottish/english/french influences.
The two main sources of income are boating and farming.
