[HCDX]: Radio Australia B99 schedule

The new Radio Australia schedule valid from 0000 31 October 1999 reflects
the current difficulties in covering their existing South East Asian targets
while trying to get signals into Indonesia/East Timor. The cost of running
the Taiwan relay is around twice that of running transmissions via Cox
Peninsula/Darwin, and the current status of Darwin is that 5 out of 6
transmitters and 6 out of 7 aerials are available for use immediately. All
it takes is the political will. The primary range of Darwin is 1500-8000 km
making East Timor to close, however tests will be conducted shortly from
Shepparton to investigate E layer daytime propagation in the 7 and 9 MHz
bands. I hope to be able to give details of these tests before they occur.
Other international broadcasters have shown interest in using Shepparton to
give a signal into the Indonesian region but capacity does not allow this at
present. Re-opening Darwin would allow other RA transmissions to be shifted
there to allow use of Shepparton into Indonesia.

The new schedule shows the following frequency use: (S=Shepparton 100kW,
B=Brandon 10kW, S*=Sheparton 70kW)
