Just read the following obit in the Globe and Mail of 9 November, 1999:
HAMMOND, Frederick Oliver--Fred VE3HC.
Born December 15, 1912. Died November 7, 1999.
For over 60 years Fred helped to build Hammond Manufacturing of Guelph with
brothers Len, Roy and Ken into one of Canada's most prominent electrical
and electronic equipment manufacturers. Fred was very active and known
thoughout the world for his love and involvement in amateur radio, as well
as antique wireless and broadcast equipment. He also founded the Hammond
Museum of Radio to help preserve the history of radio for present and
future generations.
