[HCDX]: grey-zone

Hi,

I'm looking for a formula or algorithm (not a compiled program) to 
calculate the _width_ of the dx-effective grey-zone/line. Any ideas or 
suggestions?

P.S.: I learned that the second edition of ON4UNS Low Band DX should 
contain such a mathematical description. Is there anybody around who has 
this edition in his bookshelf and can have a view for me into it?
