David Ricquish provides some details for new
New Zealand station "88 Country" on 1593kHz...
For the record: uses 2.5kW from Rhema
site at Marshlands. Tower is 90m, almost exactly 5/8 wave for 1593. Licenced for
5kW. Non-directional. Working on audio problem to improve fringe area reception.
Promoted as 'high powered' because FM uses 300mW on 88.6 FM. FM xmitter is on
top of 30 storey Hotel Grand Chancellor and gives good metro reception, 'but
nothing like 1593'. QSL signer is John Peterson.
Have found contact details for the Community Radio
Network (old 1ZA, 1ZO, 1ZU, 3ZE, 4ZW etc) of 12 stations which broadcast from
