Re: [HCDX]: 6249.3 Malabo?
Aart / Jari and others,
Thanks - I succeeded in hearing a station on 6249.3 at 1945 / 2015 29/5 but
severe digital QRM and intermittant RTTY QRM prevented a positive copy, but
a fair signal.
A very good African evening : Radio Tanzania-Zanzibar heard on 6015.00
from 1925 in // 11734 in between txmsns from Romania 1930, BBC 2000 & Poland
2030 and a burst of TWR IS at 2105. Nederland via MDG poor until 2125 co-ch
then TAN-ZAN in the clear, and still going 2205 clear channel with African
pop music and ID and frequency about every 20 mins in Swahili. Strong
signal. 11734 had QRM from Rossii 11735 but also strong. Both off 2100.
On 7205.00 a unid in French found at 1855 playing African pops. Romania at
2000-2058 in Russian then again clear. Female annc in French seemed to be
reading requests and tent. mention of Congo and Lubumbashi. Playing African
style pop music. BBC via Meyerton IS 2025 and Portuguese until 2100 then
unid again with annc in French and what seemed an anthem 2101 to off 2102.
Signal fair with splash.

Jari/ Noel & others,
Malabo has been on 6249.3 already for quite some time. In SW Germany I
notice the carrier almost daily. However, the utility qrm makes it nearly
impossible to get some useful audio. Only every now and then using LSB mode
one can get some halfway decent signal.
