Conditions continue to be rather difficult.
MADAGASCAR 17489.95 IBC Tamil, signing on at 1458 without any interval
signal, directly in Tamil language programming. Fair
reception. (Salmaniw, 4 June).
MONGOLIA 12085 Voice of Mongolia continues to be heard only poorly in
English from 1500 to 1530. Still unable to hear any parallels here.
(Salmaniw, 4 June).
CHINA 11590 5 + 1 time pips at 1600 in Chinese, then a brief English
announcement: "China Huayi Broadcasting Corporation is signing off. Thank
you for listening." carrier off. Fair. (Salmaniw, 4 June).
PAKISTAN 15100.39 Radio Pakistan with English news at 1605. Fair
reception. No parallels noted today. (Salmaniw, 4 June).
CZECH REPUBLIC 21745 Radio Prague with English to East Africa. Fair
reception at 1608. Heard to North America on 13580 with very good
reception at 0020, in English. Parallel to 11615 fair. (Salmaniw, 4-5 June).
SWEDEN 15245 Radio Sweden testing to North America on this frequency at
0300 to 0330 in Swedish, and to 0400 in English. A superior frequency to
parallel 9495, but only marginally. Excellent on the former, and very good
on the latter, with MediaScan program. Asked for reports at the end of the
broadcast. 15245 cut out in mid sentence at 0357. (Salmaniw, 7 June).
UKRAINE 13590 I'm still not 100% sure about this frequency. It was
weakly heard at sign-off of the English hour at 0358 with fair level. At
0400, signal is definitely weaker, with IS into Ukrainian. Presumably the
same (?100kw) transmitter, but a different beam heading. Still RUI is
unuseable here until the 1000kw tx return. (Salmaniw, 7 June).
