Patrick, CBC Vancouver does local (BC) IDs just before the top of the hour*, and
they will pick two of their outlets and ID them.  Sometimes it will be in the
more obvious form, "If you're in Squamish, you can hear us on 1260.."  Your good
fortune was to hear it on one outlet of the two selected for ID that hour

* I can't say they do it EVERY hour

1260 kHz - CBRU - BC, Squamish, interesting ID tonight at 2355 EDT 7/13,
as "1260 in Squamish and 90.5 in Victoria". I have never herd a local ID
on an LPRT before. (PM-OR)
