[HCDX] Loggings from Queen Charlotte Is, B.C., Canada

MOZAMBIQUE  7120  Voice of Truth.  What a difference a day makes!  At 1700 
dead air until 1701, then African singing until 1704 with heavilly accented 
woman.  Not even sure if it was English.  "7120 Khz" heard.  Followed by 
another woman not in English.  At 1706 program about HIV and papilloma 
virus, with comment that younger and younger women are being infected.  At 
1709, canned ID in English, "Write to us, Radio V of Peace (not Voice of 
Peace, or might have been V of P), with Harare address.  Overall a good 
signal.  At 1730 lost to Chinese station.

ISRAEL  17545  IBA in English at 1711.  Good signal, with 11605 also 
good.  News program.  (Salmaniw, 26 December  Queen Charlotte Is, BC).

RUSSIA  7180 (Far East site).  Voice of Russia world service at 1715 with 
program about civil aviation.  Excellent reception.  On until sign-off at 
1900 when announced that they would resume to North America at 0200.  This 
was followed by CRI signing on in Portuguese to Angola.  (Salmaniw, 26 
December  Queen Charlotte Is, BC).

ROMANIA  11740  Radio Romania International in English with a very nice 
signal over a weaker co-channel.  ID at 1720.  Transmission to northern 
Europe at this time.  No parallels noted.  (Salmaniw, 26 December  Queen 
Charlotte Is, BC).

UNITED KINGDOM  15495  UN Radio in English weakly heard via Skelton at 1743 
with schedule, web address, and mail address.  17735 not heard.  6125 via 
Meyerton is not possible here due to Chinese station at 1730.

LIBYA  17725  presumed Voice of Africa at 1735 with strong signal but 
virtually no audio.  Never a strong modulator, but this is much worse than 
in the past.  (Salmaniw, 26 December  Queen Charlotte Is, BC).

Back into the pouring rain, from the northern Queen Charlotte 
Islands...............Walt.
