From: http://www.radiocaroline.de/

Newsbeat : Friday March 23rd 2001

Radio Caroline are pleased to announce that they have entered the world of
digital satellite broadcasting. The station's output will be available from
the 1st May 2001 on the Astra digital platform at 19 degrees East.
Broadcasts will emanate from the current uplink facilities at Maidstone in
Kent.

The transmission route will be via the facilities of UPC who uplink a
digital TV and Radio bouquet including the Polish broadcaster Wijza TV,
whose digital TV and Radio broadcasts have emanated from the Maidstone
Studios for the past three years. We look forward to a successful
broadcasting relationship with them. In addition, we would like to thank our
present broadcast facility provider Flextech for providing analogue
facilities over the past two years.

The Astra 19 East digital platform is the home to over 600 Digital TV and
radio channels directed at homes throughout Europe. Full technical details
of Radio Caroline's digital satellite broadcasting frequency and tuning
parameters will follow shortly.

Radio Caroline is also currently actively pursuing negotiations in order to
obtain an additional competitively priced broadcasting outlet at the 28
degrees East orbital slot. This is the home of Sky Digital and the new
Eurobird satellite.

The station's analogue broadcasting output will cease at midnight on
Saturday 31st March 2001.
