[HCDX] Antenna Help!
Hi,
I have just finished reading some reviews on antenna's for HF on your website and would like to ask for some help in deciding what antenna would best suit myself.
I live about 10km from a fairly small city and i dont have alot of space to sling up a huge longwire ,i have about 15m of space to put up a longwire ,at present i have a diapole in a v-shape with a 1:1 Balun at the highest point and the 2 15m wire ends coming down on about a 45° angle to the back fence and insulated at each ends and the whole thing fed by heavy duty RG-213 Coaxial Cable (50ohm).
Before this i just had 1 10m length end fed longwire up but found i suffered alot from interference to the point where what i was listening to was barely audible ,but once i introduced the 1:1 Balun and the V configuration i now find all frequencies to be noise free and the stations clear and loud but at reduced signal strength ,but i find if i unscrew the outer shell of the antenna coaxial connector below 18mhz that i get a huge jump in signal but with bad interference ,yet if i screw the outer back on the noise dissapears all together and the stations are loud and very clear but have dropped by up to 4 S-points in signal.
Could you recommend some antenna designs that would be good for the amount of space i have? ,i mainly listen to frequencies between 4mhz and 27mhz USB ,and on odd ocassions i venture down to the broadcast bands ,my Receiver is an Icom R-75.
Many Thanks,
Adam.

P.S i forgot to add in the last email that i dont have alot of height to put
up an antenna either ,about 20FT is the maximum i can put any antenna height
wise (from the ground up that is)
