[HCDX] MW DXpedition Loggings



I spent most of my DXpedition time on shortwave, but some interesting MW
catches are below:

693 JAPAN JOAB Tokyo, Nov 3 1119 - Male ancr in JJ with NHK2 programming,
parallel 747 JOIB Sapporo. Very good signal on peaks. (ATKINS-WA)

738 TAHITI RFO Papeete, Nov 4 0718 - Fade-up from het on western Beverages
to male and female announcers in FR. Fair at best. (ATKINS-WA)

1035 SOLOMON ISLANDS R. Hapi Isles, Honiara, Nov 4 0839 - Island drumming at
tune-in; male ancr in unid. lang (Pidgin?) at 0840. Back into the noise by
0841. (ATKINS-WA)

1098 MARSHALL ISLANDS V7AD Majuro, Nov 4 0832 - Island vocals and male ancr
in pres. Marshallese between long fades into the background. Poor-fair.

1134 JAPAN JOQR Tokyo, Nov 3 1147 - Male ancr in JJ taking phone calls from
listeners. Mentions of Tokyo noted. Good signal; weak co-channel orchestral
music noted in background (possible Korea or China?). Also heard 11/4 with
excellent signal at 1421. (ATKINS-WA)

1188 SOUTH KOREA HLKX Inchon, Nov 3 1152 - Bouncy female ancr in KR and
orchestral KR music. Fair, with long fades. Co-channel CC lang. station hrd
faintly in background. (ATKINS-WA)

1278 JAPAN JOFR Fukuoka, Nov 4 1437 - Strong signal of JJ female vocals and
flute with orchestral accompanyment. Male and female JJ talk or
advertisement 1439. (ATKINS-WA)

1287 JAPAN JOHR Hokkaido, Nov 3 1202 - Enthusiastic JJ ancrs with
play-by-play of sporting event between Hokkaido and another team. Numerous
excited mentions of 'Hokkaido, Hokkaido!' Good level but with typical fades
to inaudibility. Also heard 11/4 at 1445 with excellent level; presumed PBS
China in background. (ATKINS-WA)

1332 JAPAN JOSF Nagoya, Nov 4 1449 - Excellent signal of JJ bubblegum pops
and bubbly female announcers in JJ. Heavy metal JJ rock 1458, then 2+1 TPs
at 1500. Possible 'Tokai Hoso' network ID 1501 during a fade in signal.

1442 JAPAN JORF Yokohama, Nov 4 1510 - JJ rock singer with a Bob Dylan-like
voice; female ancr at 1512, followed by more JJ music in a folk-rock style.
Fair level, with typical fades. (ATKINS-WA)

1548 AUSTRALIA 4QD Emerald, Nov 4 1519 - Two male ancrs in Aussie-accented
EG at tune-in; novelty pop music 1521. Mentions of the 'Australian Local
Commission' 1523 as part of an ad or PSA. Anne Murray version of Beatles'
'Here Comes The Sun' at 1524. Fair-good. (ATKINS-WA)

1575 THAILAND VOA Bangkok, Nov 3 1214 - Two male ancrs in EG discussing
economic impacts of Sept. 11th attacks, including the zero-percent financing
offers from US automakers. Fair with frequent fades. (ATKINS-WA)

1593 CHINA CNR1, Nov 4 1528 - CC talk by male and female announcers; brief
bits of music. Noted parallel 6030 shortwave. Poor, but fair on peaks.

1593.4 UNIDENTIFIED , Nov 4 0751 - Moderate het found here, best on SW
Beverage. Who?. (ATKINS-WA)
