[HCDX] GE Super Radio III external antenna.

Hi all. I have been given a Super Radio III for Xmas and find it to be one of the better portables for the money. However, try as I will I cannot get any responce from the AM external antenna connection on the unit. I hooked a 150 foot longwire and no improvemane. I have several friends here local that have the same radio and they have had the same results.

Has anyone any ideas???? Even GE in a lengthy phone call had no ideas.. Thanks and all have a good DX season..
