[HCDX] Loggings from Victoria, BC

A few items from this morning, plus a few almost stale items from the past week and a bit.........Walt.

COLOMBIA 6139.81, 0636-, Radio Melodia Feb 19 Nice reception of this station with many mentions of Colombia, Bogota, and Melodia.  About an S5 signal, with a minimal het.  EZL Spanish vocals. (Salmaniw, Victoria, BC)

ETHIOPIA 9561.07, 1601-, Radio Ethiopia Feb 22 Fair reception of a variety program in English presented by a man and woman with modern western music.  A very tough frequency with loud hets and much adjacent splatter.  A real tough assignment for my HF-2050 which outperforms the AOR 7030+ by a wide margin in this instance. (Salmaniw, Victoria, BC)

TIBET 9490, 1628-, Tibet PBS Feb 22 Fair reception with Tibetan music to BOH.  Then started to hear some local noise and unable to identify the language afterwards.  Do people still hear the English program at this time?  Various other parallels weaker. (Salmaniw, Victoria, BC)

NORWAY 18940, 1613-, Radio Afghanistan Mar 1 Strong signals with clean modulation and no fading.  Nice ID at 1615 after a brief fanfare as 'Radio Afghanistan'.  Off without ID at 1630. (Salmaniw, Victoria, BC)

UNKNOWN 15530, 1621-, BFBS Mar 1 Fair reception with sports  play by play.  Of my 6 available antennae, the 25 MHz vertical provided best reception.  Slightly echoey with frequent short fades.  I believe this favours a European (or Middle East) location.  Parallel to very weak 5945, which must be to the east (again Europe or middle east), and definitely not the far east. (Salmaniw, Victoria, BC)

KOREA (NORTH) 6575, 1612-, Voice of Korea Mar 1 Strong signal with somewhat muddy modulation in Russian with international news items by OM.  Parallel to cleaner 9324.94.  At same time English is heard with very good reception on 9335.15 with very clean modulation with usual political diatribes.  Parallel 7505 heard under KTBN, and 11335.03 (poor/fair), and 11709.91 (buzzy).  Transmitters are variable.  For example at 11:23 now on 9335.09 and drifting downwards.  Signed off in English with full schedule, followed by 'Please wait for the next time.  This is Pyongyang.'. (Salmaniw, Victoria, BC)

SINGAPORE 6150, 1534-, Radio Singapore Mar 2 Domestic service in English with news, and ID as 'News Radio 938', followed by sports news.  Fair to good esp with LSB to avoid a het from 6150.67.  Any ideas who this might be?  Bayrak?. (Salmaniw, Victoria, BC)
