Radio Pakistan is today back on it's correct frequency of 21465 kHz for it's
0800-1104 UTC Broadcast.

Yesterday's transmission on 21454.98 kHz must have been due to an incorrect
punch-up in frequency at the transmitter site

Hi all,
The following interesting information was sent to me in an email from Sam
Voron in Somalia. I'd like to share it with you all.
73 from Björn Fransson on the island of Gotland, Sweden

COPY:
Hi Bjorn,

I have been in Garowe the last 2 days to talk with
the President of Puntland, Abdulai Yussef during his short stay before he
returns to the Somalia Government creation talks in Kenya.

I also met the Minister of Information and
Telecommunications about Somalia using the human resources in the country to
operate a world wide shortwave service which would help bring the country
together using all the news sources that have developed around the country.
Such an International radio would also give a voice to Africa and to the
positive aspect of Islam and to developing nations.
The Minister of Information and Telecommunications
will approach USA, EU ,Russian and other representatives to build such a
facility in peaceful Puntland to get on air immediately and which can be
expanded into the 4th world wide broadcaster after BBC, VOA and Radio
Moscow.

The big 800Watt amplifier is back on line so you
can try to listen again.

They were using only 15Watts AM while I was away
but I heard them in Garowe which is the Puntland State capital 250km north
of Galkayo.

I will most likely leave for Kismayo the following
Thursday with a very small chance I might leave this Thursday.

                          Keep listening!

Regards,
Sam Voron

Hi!

I´ve been "away" from DX-ing for quite some time, and I´m just
wondering if KHBN (T8BZ) on Palau still is on the air? If not, is
there someone ells using that transmitting facility?

On 6175 at 1550 what was probably V. of Islam, but they are not scheduled at this hour( 0300-0700). Reception in arabic included arabic and western type music and mention of
"... ... Islam". Voice of Maylasia also not Scheduled at this hour. Is this a clan or just off schedule?

810 HJCY COLOMBIA, Bogota, strong SSer u/KGO at 0245 UTC 10/1/03,
used MFJ 1026 to phase KGO, hearing "Caracol en Coloimbia" by man,
Tropical mx and more "En Colombia" mentions inbetween songs. First time
I have heard this in years. Still lots of KGO QRM though. KGO runs
about 150 KW ERP in my direction at 550 air miles. I have logged lots of
DUs and TPs on 810, but it is at LSR when KGO's signal has dropped off a
lot. This was indeed a surprise. (PM-OR)

Bueno Robert, you could be right......and you could be wrong. The greyline is almost perfectly there between Quito and Cuba when the unID on 5833v kHz is peaking. Tomorrow morning I will be in "La Cabina", I´m there fixing my coffe 1000 UTC almost every morning, trying to get an ID.
