[HCDX] Logs from NH-USA, June 7-8



Some nice DX to be had, here in the mountains of New
Hampshire, with very good conditions during the late
afternoon and early evening. I now have a bad case of
both DX fever and QSL-itis and I'm afraid both
conditions are terminal.

4635, TAJIKISTAN, Tajik Radio (presumed), 2342-0012,
Tajik/Russian (listed), Vocal music at t/in, 
alternating talks by OM and YL w/ Arabic/Central Asian
style wind instrument musical bridges. Up-tempo mx
bridge at 2359, then dead air until OM at 0000 w/
presumed ID and "sweeping" music into news until more
dead air at 0009 then classical/choral music bits b/w
OM and YL tlks. Weak but steady signal under constant

4760, LIBERIA, ELWA Radio, 2237-2301*, June 7,
English, Religous prg. hosted by Charles White re
Psalm 22. Contact info given tho unable to clearly
copy. Announcer w/ weak audio w/ s/off announcements,
NA. Fair, best copy here in quite some time.

5010, INDIA, AIR Thiruvananthapuram, *0018-0050, June
8, Vernacular/English, Logged second night in a row w/
IS, NA and OM w/ ID, tlks w/ weak audio. ID at 0025,
different OM w/ tlks, original OM at 0030 w/ musical
bits. YL at 0035 in English, "This is All India Radio,
the news read by (announcers name)", Same YL w/ news
re Nat'l Democratic Alliance meeting in Delhi,
finalized budget, UN delegation and celestial event re
Venus eclipsing the Sun. Back to OM at 0040 w/ much
improved audio w/ continous mx and talks b/w
selections until t/out. Fair/good signal w/ still no
sign of R.Cristal/Pueblo, Dominican Republic. Get it

5030, BURKINA FASO, R.Burkina, 2304-2324, June 7,
French, OM w/ continuous talks and occasional 1 minute
breaks for Vernacular vocal music. Good. (Barbour-NH)

5815, DENMARK, WMR, 2324-2339, June 7, English, Pop
music by the Police followed by a host of unidentified
pops and ballads, jingle at 2329. Weak but steady, //
15180 very weak under static. (Barbour-NH)

6249.4, EQUATORIAL GUINEA, RN-Malabo, 2207-2228*, June
7, Spanish/English, Afropops at t/in, EG pops, "More
than Words" by Extreme w/ OM talk over in SP, passing
mentions of Malabo and Radio Nacional. New song at
2227, abruptly cut-off at 2228 w/ no s/off ID or
announcement. Fair at t/in though weak announcer
audio. Very pleased to log this one again, first time
in almost 2 years! (Barbour-NH)
