[HCDX] Logs and QSLs from NH-USA, week ending August 14



4990, SURINAME, R.Apintie, 0911-0927, August 13,
Dutch, OM and YL w/ banter, diff. OM w/ presumed field
rpt. and shouting chorus, "zinger" ID at 0919, back to
OM and YL. Poor, noisy. (Barbour-NH)

7235, SINGAPORE, RSI, 1048-1101, August 10, Malay,
Sub-continental music, YL w/ ID and OM tlks, overtaken
at 1101 by USB chatter.Poor. (Barbour-NH)

7270, MALAYSIA-SARAWAK, RTM Sarawak (presumed),
1030-1046, August 10, Vernacular, OM over music at
t/in w/ presumed ID, then OM and YL in unison followed
by alternating talks and sound bites. Fair at t/in
then fading to just audible by 1046. (Barbour-NH)

I'm logging this on a regular basis and would like to
think its Malaysia but the format gives me a nagging
suspicion that it's China. Anyone else hearing this
that knows where it originates?

7280, CHINA, VO the Strait,Fuzhou, 1020-1036, August
13, Mandarin, OM and YL w/ talks over classical music;
various other mx styles, presumed ID at 1030 then
ad/announcement block. Fair. (Barbour-NH)

7320, RUSSIA, R.Rossii via Arman, 1005-1019, August
13, Russian/English, OM w/ presumed news, solid ID at
1010 followed by Elvis' "Don't be Cruel" in EG,
Classical Russian music program at 1015. Poor, weak
but in the clear. (Barbour-NH)

9525, INDONESIA, Vo Indonesia, 1110-1130, August 10,
Mandarin/English, YL w/ ballads and talks, full RRI ID
and web info in English at 1113, back to music.
Overtaken by VOA-9535 splatter at 1130. Fair/poor,
weak. (Barbour-NH)

9595, JAPAN, R.Nikkei, 0943-1002, August 13, Japanese,
OM and YL w/ talks, Piano recitals from 0949-0959, mx
bridge/pips/ and nice "Radio Nikkei" ID then more OM
and YL. Strong signal while // 6055 just audible under
terrible static. (Barbour-NH)

9960, SRI LANKA, R.Farda, 2020-2034, August 13,
Arabic/English, Usual format of Arabic and English pop
music w/ "breathless" ID's b/w selections, YL and OM
w/ news, soundbites at 2030. Fair, booming in USB.

9965, PALAU, KHBN, 1039-1102, August 13, Mandarin, OM
w/ continuos religous talks until choral music at
1055, then talk over music at 1057 until YL over light
flute music at 1100. Weak, fading out by 1100.

15476, ANTARCTICA, LRA36-R.Nacional (presumed),
2041-2059, August 13, Spanish, OM and YL at t/in; over
music on occasion, pop music bridge at 2043 followed
by YL w/ lengthy talk. Pop ballads from 2050 onward,
surge in QRN at 2057 then wiped out at 2059 by Voz
Christiana-15475 s/on. Spot on frequency tho Weak w/
deep fades and prop. QRN. (Barbour-NH)

QSLs:

SOUTH AFRICA, R.Sondergrense via SENTECH, 3320, nice
looking f/d verie letter (wrong month though, says
April should read July) w/ SENTECH letterhead and
schedule in 18 days for $1. V/S, Kathy Otto, Broadcast
Planning. (Barbour-NH)

VIETNAM, VO Vietnam-Xuan Mai, 5925, f/d "logo" card w/
out site in 139 days 1 IRC and an EG report. Also
received was a nice "Wheel watering-Cao Bang" picture
postcard, the first enclosure, other than a schedule,
I have received with my VOV QSLs. (Barbour-NH)
