Apologies for the delay in distributing some of these.
Work was extremely busy over Christmas week with the
Mt. Washington Valley awash with tourists. Not much
time for DXing unfortunately.
2310, AUSTRALIA, VL8A Alice Springs, 1053-1107,
Dec.27, English, Interview and mx by artist Leslie
Morgan, ID, news re tsunami and phone numbers for Red
Cross donations, "You are listening to ABC news" ID.
Fair, // 2325 VL8T Tenant Creek-poor. (Barbour-NH)
3976, INDONESIA-KALIMANTAN, RRI Pontianak, 1059-1108,
Jan.3, Indo, Chanting vocal music, brief announcer at
1100 then back to music, battling for dominance w/
2-way CW traffic from 1102 onward, otherwise would
have had nice reception. (Barbour-NH)
4500, ZAMBIA, ZBC/Radio 2, 0405-0420, Jan.4,
Vernacular, Nice mix of Afropops w/ OM b/w selections,
several IDs. Booming signal much better than 4910
which was NOT in //. (Barbour-NH)
4760, ANDAMAN & NICOBAR ISLANDS, AIR Port Blair,
1205-1219, Dec.28, Vernacular, Continuous Hindi
ballads w/ brief YL b/w selections. Poor/fair.

Ballads and instrumentals, two announcers at 2232 thru
t/out. Very weak but clear, // 5995-improving, nothing

4789.96, INDONESIA-PAPUA, (p)RRI Fak Fak, 1122-1132,
Jan.3, Indo, very weak music and talks under mild QRN,
presumed IS at 1130. Poor. (Barbour-NH)
4850, INDIA, AIR Kohima, 1142-1205, Dec.28,
Vernacular, Choral-like music w/ announcer b/w
selections, ID at 1200 followed by OM w/ news.
Poor/fair w/ varying audio levels. Not noted at
earlier 1140 check. (Barbour-NH)
5040.83, MYANMAR, R.Myanmar, 1243-1304, Jan.3,
Burmese, Ballads, piercing wind instrument at 1245 and
brief YL, (p) ID over music at 1300 then talks
continuing thru t/out. Poor. (Barbour-NH)
5860, CHINA, VO Jinling, 1140-1203, Jan.3, Mandarin, 2
YL's w/ talks, music at 1154 followed by various
ads/promos w/ R&B ballad in presumed EG at 1157-1159,
pips and (p) ID at 1200 by YL and OM. Various talks

7110, ETHIOPIA, (p)R.Ethiopia, 1907-1925, Dec.28,
Ahmaric, OM w/ rapid-fire talks, "techno" musical bits
and talks by various announcers, Horn of Africa vocal
music at 1923. Weak but clear, (p) // 9704.2 buried
under het. (Barbour-NH)
9525, POLAND, R.Polonia, 1246-1304, Dec.28,
German/English, German service until 1255, dead air
until IS at 1259 and EG ID loop. EG service at 1300 w/
news re tsunami and Polish victims w/ mention of
R.Polonia website. Poor. (Barbour-NH)
9770, SRI LANKA, SLBC, *1227-1243, Dec.28, English,
IS/pips, YL w/ ID over music, children's music
program, SLBC promo at 1240. Weaker than usual and
still so on subsequent checks over the past week. I
assume running at reduced power due to tsunami?
