[HCDX] MV Communicator up for sale



This is the former home of Laser 558. The MV Communictor is currently
situated in St Margarets Hope in the Orkney Islands.

The ship has a 200 ft radio transmission mast along with 4 generators and
engines needing attention.

The MV Communicator was vandalised during her time in Holland and requires
some TLC.

Steeped in history there are only 2 working radio ships left in the World.

Recently used as The Superstation this piece of broadcasting history is a
fantastic marketing tool for any radio station.

Built in 1954 by Abeking & Rasmussen in Lemwerder/Bremen (West Germany) for
Det Stavangerske Dampskipsselskap (DSD) in Stavanger (Norway) as a cargo
vessel. The tonnage of the vessel was 477 GRT, 190 NRT and 575 TDW and the
vessel measured 186,8 / 29,3 / 8,7. The ship was one of six similar ships
owned and operated by the company to carry cargo between Bergen, Stavanger
and Oslo. Before renamed MV Communicator the ship was called Tananger,
Charterer and Gardline Seeker.

NO Radio equpiment is included in the sale.
