[HCDX] WorldDAB stages DAB/DMB road show in India

The WorldDAB Forum will stage a series of events in
India in February, demonstrating the latest Digital
Audio Broadcasting (DAB) and multimedia technology to
broadcasters, network providers and manufacturers.

This is the first time the international promotional
and lobbying body for DAB will be hosting events in
India.

DAB audio trials are already underway in New Delhi by
AIR-India. A further rollout of DAB services is
expected once spectrum allocation has been determined
by the Indian government, possibly by the end of 2006.

The WorldDAB road show will begin with the Broadcast
Engineering Society Conference in New Delhi on 10-11
February, followed by the DAB/DMB demonstration and
workshop in Bangalore on 13 February. It will end in
Mumbai on 14-15 February.

WorldDAB will provide DAB experts from a range of
technology and broadcast providers, along with
demonstrations showcasing DAB audio services, DMB
mobile TV services, and the latest products on the
market.

WorldDAB President, Quentin Howard said: ?Given the
growth in the commercial radio market, and the
economic drive across the country, this is the perfect
time for WorldDAB to be showcasing the DAB family of
standards in India.?
