Russia, 9765, Radiostantsiya Tikhiy Okean, 0847-0859, Noted Russian language
comments at tune-in. At 0848, canned ID, "Radiostantsiya Tikhiy Okean". this
followed with more comments . At 0852, Russian Pop music presented interspersed
with comments and another canned ID. After a minute of comments at 0859, station
went off the air. Signal was good. (Chuck Bolland, October 18, 2007)
Peru, 4790.09, Radio Vision, 0908-0920 Noted a nice normal format of Huaynos and
other Peruvian type pop music during the period. This continues during the listening
period. Signal was good. (Chuck Bolland, October 18, 2007)
Bolivia, 6134.8, Radio Santa Cruz, 0915-0925 Initially a male in Spanish comments
until 0918 when pop music presented. This format continues. Near the bottom of
the hour, station on 6135 starts to fade in and block RSC a little. However, RSC
signal was good just the same. (Chuck Bolland, October 18, 2007)
China, 6200, People's Broadcasting Station, (pres)1109-1120 Initially noted upbeat music,
not typical Chinese type. This followed with comments from two individuals. Language
sound Tibetan or Chinese. Even so, the signal was poor to threshold. (Chuck Bolland,
October 18, 2007)
Colombia, 5910, La Voz Tu Conciencia, (pres) 1115-1125 "What we have here is an
'attempt' to communicate" an English sermon to a Spanish audience. A male in
English comments while a female translates these into Spanish. Although the signal
was fair in my locale and probably good in the target area, the splatter at this time
of day made the whole thing a stirred up mess of gibberish. (Chuck Bolland, October 18, 2007)
China, 5925, Central People's Broadcasting Station, 1125-1135 Noted Chinese Opera music until
the half hour when female comments in Chinese. Signal was poor with splatter. Checked a
couple of parallels and found same broadcast at 9380 and 7620 KHz. (Chuck Bolland,
October 18, 2007)
Costa Rica, 5930, Radio Exterior Espana, 1130-1145 Noted individuals in Spanish
language comments. Flute and drum music as fillers between comments. Mentions
of "Espana" and "France". Comments seemed to be political. Could not find this freq and time
for REE's relay from Costa Rica in any of my hardcopy references. Although the signal was
fair, the splatter down here crushed REE's signal at times. ID and address given at
1149 as well as the email address. Not certain about this being relayed via Costa Rica, but
that would be the logical place for this time of day. (Chuck Bolland, October 18, 2007)
