BBC radio stations extend podcasts with music

Radio 1, Radio 2 and 1Xtra are among radio stations to include music in 
their podcasts for the first time as the BBC extends its service from today.

BBC Radio is to include 30-second clips of music within its podcasts for 
programmes including Radio 1's Chart Show, Rock Show and Punk Show 
and 1Xtra's Drum & Bass, Hip Hop and R&B Top 10s.

The broadcaster currently has over 120 speech-only podcasts available and 
has now beefed up its offering with a richer

... production from around 20 specialist shows.

BBC Radio has been offering podcasts to its listeners since November 
2004.
