[DX] Lokia
Tervehdys!
Tässä lokia lokakuun alkupuolelta. Vähän pääsi viivästymään, mutta syy on yksinkertaisesti työ. Kaikki illat ja viikonloput menevät aivan 'väärien' asioiden merkeissä.

KUHMO & LEMMENJOKI (LEM 140)
JIM SOLATIE (JMS), ESPOO, FINLAND
A short expedition to Kuhmo (1.-3.10.2000) and then to Lemmenjoki (4.-7.10.2000). In Kuhmo I had two longwire antennas to Asia (700 meters to 70 degrees and 500 meters to 90 degrees) and in Lemmenjoki the great antennafarm beamed around the world.
In Kuhmo I was after Australia, but the only one was Radio National on 729 kHz, the easiest catch nowadays and thus not exciting. On the other hand a great Philippine opening saved this part of the expedition. In Lemmenjoki, some 800 km north from Kuhmo I had more luck with Indians, Thai-stations and ... North Americans, even though there were a severe storm with an A-index of 68! The hardware were two NRD 535-receivers.

104,5 4.10. 1730 Power FM, Murmansk. Heard in Sodankylä while driving up north. Thanks Esko Nykänen for coffee and the delicious apple pie! And for letting me use your FM-yagi! Also six other Murmansk area stations audible, but those were reported already last summer. JMS
