[DX] uutta kytättävää Saksanmaalle
Viime syksynä AFN Würzburgin raportoinnin sivutuotteena kuului lyhyt paikallisbreikki 1143:lla (vihje RM 1/2001), joka nyt on lopullisesti selvinnyt, ja Spangdahlem/Bitburghan se oli. Tuntuu erittäin hienolta, kun on kuullut aseman, jonka olemassaolosta ei tiennyt ennen kuuntelua, ja jonka kanssa sai tehdä hieman salapoliisityötä. Lisätkäähän kyttäyslistoille. Tulee kyllä kuulumaan uudelleenkin, nyt kun on paljastunut. Viime lokakuinen paikallisbreikkiaika oli 0654 UTC, ja asema kuului Långåminneen vedetyllä ylimääräisellä 400 metrin eurolangalla.

Mr. Suokas,
This is to confirm that the cassette tape you sent us does contain
elements of the radio show we put out on 27 Oct 2000. The portions
specifically mentioning items from the 52d Fighter Wing and Team Eifel were
produced by Detachment 9, Air Force News Agency and broadcast on the AFN
Eifel signal. Locally we broadcast on 1143 AM and FM 105.1. Both signals
are put out at only 1KW, so it's quite remarkable that you were able to
catch the signal so far away, congratulations to you.
AFN Eifel is located at Bitburg Annex of Spangdahlem Air Base in the city
of Bitburg, Germany. On your map you'll find Bitburg near the Luxemburg and
Belgian borders. The nearest larger German cities are Trier to the south
and Wittlich to the East.
While I have not had the pleasure of visiting Finland, my wife is Danish
and I have spent much time in Denmark and Greenland, so I have an
appreciation for the northern countries and cultures. I'm sure Finland is
as beautiful as your photo shows.
