[DX] Mittarit tappiin !

Lieneekö viimeisten purkausten jälkeen syytä laittaa A ja K-indeksi tasot uusiksi.
Aurinkotuulta mittaavien satelliitien mittalaitteet meinivät saturaatioon...
Lainaus uudesta DX Windowista:

At the end of October solar activity reached extremely high levels. Thus on Oct 28 an X17+ class flare erupted from a very huge sunspot which covered an area of over 7.8 billion square miles on the surface of the sun! Retired Space and Atmospheric Weather Forecaster, Thomas F. Giella wrote in HCDX: ” On Oct 29, the K index reached a 9 and the A index 400, both at the top of their respective scales and representative of a severe geomagnetic storm at mid latitudes. The X17+ of Oct 28 was historic in that it was the second largest solar flare of cycle 23 and third largest since 1859. Also the massive associated Coronal Mass Ejection (CME) arrived at Earth in only approximately 19 hours, also fastest since 1859. Take Care!” It caused poor reception conditions when it impacted the Earth's magnetosphere with total fade outs on SW on the sunlit side. Several X-class flares have occured since then. At night nearby stations faded out whereas stations to the south stayed on. Here in Europe, European stations became weaker or faded out whereas African stations were well heard. More normal and quiet reception conditions are expected the coming days.
