This webpage has several good articles about coaxial cable grounding,
matching transformers, the 4 types of grounding arrangements, coaxial
chokes, etc.

Of special interest is the article, "A Second Look at Fabricating Impedance
Matching Transformers for Receiving Antennas", with our own Nick Hall-Patch
as one of the contributing authors. You can learn how to make your own
matching transformer for the cost of the few parts needed (about $5. worth
of material), that will work better or at least equal to any commercial
matching transformer. In particular, you can build yours to have isolated
grounds, unlike most of the commercial units.
