Hauser
** CHINA [and non]. 7575, July 19 at 1306, Chinese vs Chinese, making fast SAH on slightly different frequencies. Seems a channel not occupied before, and EiBi shows nothing; but NDXC/Aoki shows VOA Cantonese via THAILAND this hour only, so now also jammed. Also in HFCC as 54 degrees in Zho. The huge language list at HFCC says Zho merely means Chinese, i.e. which Chinese not specified, while Cantonese in particular is Yue (Glenn Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING DIGEST)

** CUBA [and non]. 15140, July 18 at 2011, JBA carrier, surely not RHC as scheduled in French, but OMAN which RHC normally obliterates. 11860, however, poorly radiates RHC in Brazuguese to Europe (Carlos will not appreciate that). (Aoki/NDXC totally misses 11860 for RHC!). Something`s always wrong at RHC (Glenn Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING DIGEST)

** CUBA. 6165, July 19 at 0602, RHC English is S9+10/20 of dead air; 6100 also DA at S9/S9+10; 6060 DA of S9+10/20; only 6000, S9+10/20, succeeds in modulating, but it`s somewhat suptorted. 5040 is off as it is supposed to be after 0600; 5025, R. Rebelde is also dead air at 0605. Something`s always wrong at RadioCuba (Glenn Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING DIGEST)

** CUBA. 6099.239, July 19 at 1239, RHC is way off-frequency again, making big het with presumed CRI in Russian, about equal level on 6100.0. Careful LSB and PBT can get rid of the het. CRI is gone after 1300. 6060 RHC is NOT on, contrary to 11-14 on sked. Something`s always wrong at RHC. 6000 is on (Glenn Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING DIGEST)

** KOREA NORTH [non]. 9885, July 19 at 1311, fair in Korean talk, song, S8-S5. Not in HFCC, but Ivo Ivanov reported:

``TAJIKISTAN. National Unity Radio via Dushanbe, July 12
http://swldxbulgaria.blogspot.com/2018/07/reception-of-national-unity-radio-via.html
1200-1500 on 9885 DB 100 kW / 071 deg to NEAs Korean, fair``

NDXC/Aoki agrees. Not in HFCC as of July 6. However, EiBi says this is coming from Paochung, TAIWAN site, which seems more likely for my reception. Which is it? (Glenn Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING DIGEST)

** KOREA NORTH [non]. 9900, July 19 at 1312, S4-S5 JBM, language? HFCC: ``9900 1300 1330 44NE TAI 300 352 0 145 1234567 250318 281018 D 9000 Kor CHN BAB BAB 351`` which is not very informative.
NDXC/Aoki says it`s Nippon no Kaze via Paochung, TAIWAN. EiBi says same via Taiwan-s site, which means
s-Danshui/Tanshui/Tamsui (Taipei province) 25N11-121E25; rather than:
p-Paochung/Baujong (Yunlin province) PAO/BAJ 23N43-120E18. Which is it? (Glenn Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING DIGEST)

** TURKEY. 15450.046, July 19 at 1320, VOT, VP with music at tail of 1230 English to Europe and also USward but which has never been listenable here this A-season; and characteristically off-frequency+plus from Emirler (Glenn Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING DIGEST)

** U S A [and non]. WORLD OF RADIO 1939 monitoring: a double-bust Wednesday July 18 at 2100: 9955 WRMI from *2057:45 not with IS & ID loop, boding ill, but JIP some African music, 2059 another; then Radio Africa Network ID for 21525! (which is now off, heard earlier). Proceeds with a gospel huxter at hisperfectwill.org for at least the rest of the semihour. Wrong feed plugged into 9955 transmitter. WRMI webcast however is running WOR 1939, but it`s out of whack again with very distorted sound.

WOR simultaneously scheduled Wednesday July 18 at 2100 on 7490v WBCQ, JBA carrier, but checking webcast, it`s a replay of last week`s 1938! I wonder if these happened also last Wednesday when I was out, missed checking either? I must keep constant track of what is really happening with scheduled WOR times. I notify WBCQ boardops and they successfully air new WOR 1939 at 2330 UT Wednesday July 18 on good 9330.075, temporarily cutting away from Brother Scare. Next:

** U S A. 5130.267v, July 19 at 0606, WBCQ BS way up here instead of usual offset to the minus side circa 5129.83v. // 9330.152v (Glenn Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING DIGEST)

** U S A. 9265, July 18 at 2012, WINB is VP S6-S7 in Spanish. Sked effective July 8 shows weekday sign-on is now *2000, only Wednesdays in Spanish, `A Look at the Book` = not rhyming in Spanish, ``Mirada al Libro``? Another semihour in Spanish ensues at 2100-2130 (Glenn Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING DIGEST)

UNIDENTIFIED. 476 kHz, approx., July 19 around 0610, JBA CW marker from a WA4- call --- this is amid the new ``630 meter ham band``, 472-479 kHz. Something about it:
http://www.arrl.org/news/new-630-meter-band-reported-very-busy
(Glenn Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING DIGEST)

UNIDENTIFIED. 11850, July 19 at 1315, S9-S7 open carrier, dead air. Nothing scheduled now; used to be an RVA frequency for Vietnamese from 1330. Not Cuba, since 11840 source of parasites is not on (Glenn Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING DIGEST)

** CUBA. 6165, July 18 at 0557, this RHC English is off; 6100 is poor and undermodulated; 6060 is VG; 6000 JBM; 5040 fair but storm noise worse down here. Something`s always wrong at RHC.

6000, July 18 at 1339, RHC Spanish still on here, but 13740 is AWOL. Something`s always wrong at RHC. I have another look at the official sked effective April 8, and see the following morning usage, contrary to what I thought, 6000 until 1300:

6000, 12-14, to N/C/SAm, so presumably non-direxional
6060, 11-14, to New York (? But don`t think I have been hearing it)
6100, 11-13, to Chicago (misplaced under Mesa Redonda at bottom)
13700, 13-15, to San Francisco
13740, 11-14, to Buenos Aires
(Glenn Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING DIGEST)

** GUATEMALA. 4055, July 18 at 1055, Radio Truth, TGAV with amateur singing ``City of Gold`` hymn in English, then religious chat in English; fairly good signal before our sunrises. Haven`t heard a word for months about magical worldwide relays (Glenn Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING DIGEST)

** MEXICO. 660, July 18 at 1107 UT, partial full ID is dominant over Dallas or Omaha, but with heavy SAH, ``---Z, ABC Noticias, Monterrey, Nuevo LeÃn``. It`s XEFZ, 10/1 kW. Not often heard, rather usually 50/10 kW XEEY Aguascalientes2 (Glenn Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING DIGEST)

** OKLAHOMA. 530, July 18 at 1600 UT, ``K530AM`` Vance AFB is off the air again, and may have been for a few days now (Glenn Hauser, Enid, DX LISTENING DIGEST)

** U S A. 5950, July 18 at 1102, WRMI with RAE in Brazuguese, // 9955. Has this one been chopped to 30 minutes like English? Unknown yet. Websked still shows one hour. Transmission grid shows System B on both 5950 and 9955 at 1100-1400, and also at 1400-1500 on 5950. But program skedgrid for System B below it contradicts, only 9955 at 11-14. (But brief 5950-only segments at 14-15 and 0430-0500 --- what`s on then? Unshown).

9955, Wednesday July 18 at 1329:30, the WRMI ID recorded by me, which used to air at 1315:00 preceding WORLD OF RADIO at 1315:30, canceled some months ago. 1330, `FG Radio`, opening in German, into a reading in English about English history (rather than news centred on Cyprus), 1342 closing in French and AÃda fill theme.

9955, Wednesday July 18 at 1345, `Viva Miami`, Jeff begins with some frequency notices: 9455 has been reactivated at 00-04 UT Thursdays only (doesn`t say why or with what, but we know); 11580 is *temporarily* back Saturdays at 2100-2300 (ditto, but it was gone again July 14 per Ivo Ivanov); 9395 has a problem with RTTY QRM. Since 9395 is officially ``out of band``, WRMI may have to move, up or down a bit, or replace with 9455. Says the QRM is worse around the east coast than Midwest. Then on to mailbag acknowledging reception reports. I suspect this episode is already a few weeks old.

I first reported RTTY QRM on the plus side of 9395 months ago. And I hear it again right away, July 18 at 1431 vs Brother Scare. RTTY is never overpowering the Overcomer, but annoying. I measure two carrier zero-beats at 9396.5 and 9397.5.

9955, is *still* on the air Wed July 18 at 1431 with World Music fill; supposedly gets extended past 1400 only on Saturdays. But same System B supposedly runs on 5950 until 1500, daily? Unheard/unchecked now (Glenn Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING DIGEST)

** U S A. 7505v, July 18 at 0554, WRNO with fake `TruNews` instead of gospel huxtering in English or Chinese. It sure seems like their programming ``schedule`` is generated at random (Glenn Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING DIGEST)

** CUBA. 5040, July 17 at 0549, RHC in wrong language, Spanish instead of English, S9+10 and undermodulated. English remains on 6000, suptorted and undermodulated, 6060 undermodulated; 6100 very poor signal; 6165, best and really the only good frequency now: something`s always wrong at RHC, but Âviva la redundancia! (Glenn Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING DIGEST)

** OKLAHOMA. 88.7, July 16 at 1959 UT, KLVV Ponca City I happen to catch an ID asserting My Praise FM is also now on HD2 of KTST 101.9 The Twister, OKC. Strange bedfellows with a very commercial secular country station. At least I think it is: I never intentionally listen to either. The WTFDA FM Database does not include HD station info, beyond the fact that KTST does have something in HD = IBOC. So besides its other three relays in Enid, Goltry=Enid and Stillwater, KLVV sort of makes it into a sort of major market (Glenn Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING DIGEST)

** U S A. WORLD OF RADIO 1938 monitoring: confirmed UT Tuesday July 17 after 0030 on WRMI 7730, VG. I`m a bit late in recording WOR 1939, so it`s not ready for Tuesday 2030, 2130 or 2330 â but little loss, since I have been unable to hear/confirm WRMI 5950 and/or 7780 during the first two, and WBCQ keeps on BSing at 2330. Ready for first airings July 18:

** U S A. 92.7, July 16 at 1758 UT, during another futile bandscan on caradio for sporadic E FM DX which is supposedly rampant around us, I check out this too-steady signal near hourtop: ``92.7 The ---, The Rhythm of River City``. River City is hardly an unique appellation, but I bet this one is nearby Wichita KS --- yes, almost correlates with this in WFTDA FM Database: ``KWME 92.7 WELLINGTON KS, 14 kW H&V, 130 m HAAT, 37-20-08, 97-27-53, 4B54, KWME, Oldies, RHYTHMIC OLDIES THE BLAST`` (Glenn Hauser, Enid OK, DX LISTENING DIGEST)

** CUBA. 6000, July 16 at 1314, RHC is still on in undermodulated Spanish, but not 6100, both nominally 1300*. Something`s always wrong at RHC (Glenn Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING DIGEST)

** NORTH AMERICA. 6960-USB, July 16 at 0131, S9+5 pirate music, OSOB; 0141, 0146, 0150, 0152, quick synthyl announcements, ID? I never catch it clearly, partly because I am simulscanning on another receiver. These say it was Mix Radio or Mix Radio International, including SSTV:
https://www.hfunderground.com/board/index.php/topic,44357.0.html

My nearest streetlite ignites at 0151 UT causing a wideband RF burst before it`s fully illuminated. Cloudy sky at sunset, so otherwise it would have been a few minutes later. Current SS/SR times at Enid are: 0149 & 1125 UT; per gaisma.com shifting less than one minute earlier/later per noctem/diem (Glenn Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING DIGEST)

** OKLAHOMA. 88.3, July 16 circa 1329 UT, surprised to hear KOSU instead of Family Radio translator for Enid, K202BY; axually it`s KOSR, the low-power KOSU 91.7 OKC relay back at nominal HQ Stillwater; not clear if K202BY off, or area tropo allowing it to overcome, but by 1400, it`s all K202BY.

Some Tulsa market TV stations are also in circa 1400 UT July 16, notably RF 20, KQCW-DT ``19`` Muskogee plugging parent station KOTV ``6``. No subchannels here, just 19-1 on CW net. It won`t have to repack, but KOTV RF 45 will go to RF 26, 19 and 30! Per rabbitears.info for Market 63: 19 and 30 will be 1 kW fill-ins, south and north of Tulsa respectively, while RF 26 will be the main channel for KOTV. All also carry KQCW-SD as 6-2 and News on Six as 6-3 (Glenn Hauser, Enid, DX LISTENING DIGEST)

** U S A. WORLD OF RADIO 1938 monitoring: confirmed UT Monday July 16 from 0130.5 on WRMI 7780 S9-S7, and 5850 S9+45! I was expecting to hear an endsliver of `Rockphesy`, still on sked until 0130, but instead at 0129, there was BS on 5850 (// 7730), fortunately cutting to two canned IDs in time for WOR a semiminute past the semihour. 7780 had some music, fill?

Also confirmed UT Monday July 16 from 0300 on Area 51 webcast, and at 0327 check on WBCQ 5129.82v, poor. Also UT Monday July 16 at 0330 on WRMI 9955, good S9/+10, but as soon as WOR starts I hear some lite pulse jamming: tnx a lot, Arnie! Also confirmed after 0400 the immediate repeat on unjammed WRMI webcast only. Next:

Mon 2330 WBCQ 9330v to WSW [maybe]
Tue 0030 WRMI 7730 to WNW

** U S A. 9475, July 16 at 0148, WTWW-1 is still on SFAW day frequency at S9+45; while last night at 0026 it was already on night frequency 5830.

15809.9, July 16 at 0154, WTWW-3 is on but JBA S1 with rock, ``Suzy Q``, // 5085 at S9+50. Yet it`s the 19m OSOB, and consequently the SSOB (for anyone still wondering: Only, and Strongest, Station On Band) (Glenn Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING DIGEST)

** U S A. 1130, July 16 at 1335 UT, KLEY Wellington KS with classic rock, normal. For some weeks now I have not caught it breaking up as it had been doing since February into June (Glenn Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING DIGEST)

** ANGUILLA. 11775, July 15 at 1242 no signal from CB/TUN/PMS/DGS even tho it`s Sunday morning --- but it is on by 1303, now // 13845 WWCR. Standard behavior has been to continue thru Sunday night/Monday morning on 6090, Monday day on 11775, after 2200 on 6090, but then gone again until next Sunday morning. Rick Barton, AZ, heard it turn off abruptly at 0305* UT Tuesday June 26. The transmitter is obviously working fine, but they no longer choose to run it 24/7 (Glenn Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING DIGEST)

** CHINA [and non]. 11985, July 15 at 1244, Firedragon music jamming mixing with Chinese talk, i.e. RTI as scheduled this hour only. See also TAIWAN [and non] (Glenn Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING DIGEST)

** CUBA. 6060, July 14 at 0530, this RHC English frequency is off; 6000 undermodulated; 6100 good; 6165 best modulation and signal, slightly better than the fifth of The Cuban Five, 5040. At 0553 I rate 6000 as JBM = just barely modulated. The relative quality of these, and which may be missing, vary greatly from one night to the next. Something`s always wrong at RHC (Glenn Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING DIGEST)

** MADAGASCAR. 17640, July 15 at 1806, MWV is back with good signal during English hour of African Pathways Radio, previews, first to ``Path to a happy home`` about family relations, domestic support should be reciprocal (duh!). Quite a while since this has been easily heard from the other worldside (Glenn Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING DIGEST)

** NORTH AMERICA. 6880-AM, July 15 at 0024, rock music, S5 vs static crashes to S9, the OSOB with none in the 6.9s. Still going past 0046.
Many logs here say it`s a relay of X-FM, originally unID, between 2305 July 14 and 0133 July 15:

** NORTH AMERICA. 6925-USB, July 15 at 0127, S9+20 rap with swearing, then a novelty comedy song. Suspected Clever Name Radio, and so it is:
https://www.hfunderground.com/board/index.php/topic,44313.0.html
between *0058 and 0142* (Glenn Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING DIGEST)

** SRI LANKA. 11904.89, July 15 at *0029:36, JBA carrier on from SLBC, S0.5-S1, surprisingly off-frequency. 0030:28 imagination-level timesignal? Cuts off and on air, again from *0031:11 (Glenn Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING DIGEST)

** TAIWAN. 11440- & 11500-, July 14 at 1240, VP carriers, slightly on low side, maybe some Chinese. Hallmarx of Sound of Hope, and matching nicely with Aoki/NDXC showing them on 11439.956 and 11499.933. And evidently without jamming.

[non] 15740, July 15 at 0047, S1 JBA talk, in Chinese? Except for CRI/Cuba 15120, it`s the OSOB. Aoki shows only Sound of Hope on 15740.232, but *jammed and I am probably hearing the latter, CNR1, since the signal was not noticeably off-frequency. ** U K. 7345, July 14 at 0458, Bow Bells from BBCWS, 0500 news. I thought this would be Ascension, but that`s not until 0600. The 05-06 hour is 170 degrees from Woofferton. Much weaker than, and with some splat de, neighbor 7335 MartÃ.

I`ve fired up my Grundig Mini World PE pocket radio! I`m afraid it had been disused for several years, a decade? once I had direct-entry digital portables. It`s a neat little radio, 4 x 3 by less than 1 inch. Seems heavier than expected. In a tight pouch where the dust accumulated, keeping the radio pristine. To my surprise it came right on, the 2xAA batteries still good, and not leaking, maybe originals? Maxell Alkaline Ace, ``no mercury/cadmium added``, dated 12-2004!

I`m impressed with its sensitivity, if not the selectivity, using only the telescopic rod antenna which extends to only 14.5 inches. Reception depends a lot on its orientation, whether it`s being touched, or near metal objects. Tried clipping on the inside longwire, but not surprisingly causing overload.

Tiny analog ``slide-rule`` dial is backwards, the highest frequencies of each band on the left. Tuning wheel is hard to move and land on exactly the center frequency. Also exhibits some drift? Besides FM and AM, six SW bands: 49, 41, 31, 25, 19 and 16m, mostly with a good overrun around the edges, but not quite enough now --- barely reaches WRNO but not WOOB WRMIs.

Tiny speaker sounds tinny, better with hi-fi stereo headphones plugged in, not mere buds. Does receive stereo on FM only, visually indicated by a red light. Has a plastic belt clip, I would be very careful not to break, and the non-swiveling antenna is a drawback. Better put it in a breast pocket instead. (This is the only log reported on this receiver.) ** U S A. 14179-USB, July 14 at 1253, NU1AW/portable 9 ``IARU HQ Station``, making quick contacts, mostly 5&9, as if in a contest, such as with N3XZ, YV4MT. Evidently simplex but all others are much weaker or inaudible. How can it be at IARU HQ with such a call? ARRL shows NU1AW is axually club at ARRL itself, Newington CT, David Sumner. Is it he? Now somewhere in the /9 call area (IL/IN/WI), never specified, nor does he even mention his own call with every contact (Glenn Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING DIGEST)

** U S A. WORLD OF RADIO 1938 monitoring: confirmed Saturday July 14 at 1431 on Hamburger Lokalradio, 6190-CUSB, mostly sufficient to 1500* via UTwente SDR. NOT confirmed Saturday July 14 at 2300 on WRMI 7780, instead Blalock the Blaster! Skedgrid now shows `Full Gospel Hour[sic]` daily at 2300-2330. NOT confirmed UT Sunday July 15 at 0200 on WRMI 7780 either, instead Radio Prague in English (in addition to 0300 on 9395).

Confirmed UT Sunday July 15 at 0345 on WA0RCR, 1860-AM, Missouri, about 9 minutes in, so started late circa 0336; fair vs storm crashes.

** U S A. 15809.953v, as of early July 15, WTWW-3 transmitter not heard lately at random day and night chex. In fact last time logged for sure was July 1, tho there was a JBA carrier July 7. Definitely off Saturday July 14 at 1950, while 9475 has defaulted to ham show. Also off UT Sunday July 15 at 0026 check (when 5830 is already on instead of 9475), and still off after 0100 when 5085 has come up.

Until --- final check at 1803 UT July 15, now 15810- is back on with PPPP // 9475 SFAW about his reluctance to be interviewed by the WSJ,

5085, UT Sunday July 15 at 0101, WTWW-2 has just come on the air, with classic country, then a long string of rambling ham commercials by Ted, ending with Heil Sound, to intro `Theater Organ in the Ozarx` which does not really start until 0111! Bob is airing 40-50-year-old recordings originally on 4-track tape, when he was playing a modified Hammond organ in a restaurant. NO signal on 15810v to // it any more (Glenn Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING DIGEST)

** U S A. 10100, July 15 at 0027, WWRB is JBA but enough to match this second harmonic to VG S9+25 fundamental 5050 with weekend-only over-wrought gospel huxters (Glenn Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING DIGEST)
