Drake SPR-4 for medium-wave DX

Hi

I use a Drake SPR-4 when DX-ing on shortwave, but find its performance
on the medium-wave band poor.

Looking at the circuit diagrams it appears that the input circuits
are different when on the "A" & "B" bands.

Does anyone know of any mods to improve the SPR-4's medium-wave
performance?

I also use an Eddystone 680X for medium-wave, but that is somewhat
lacking in portability 8-)
