dawn enhancement gave this enough kick to break over the always-

1530 unID (MIDDLE EAST ?), MAR 1 0152 - very strong "bubble jammer"
type signal was hammering WSAI, especially on the lower sideband.
On the "Euro-sloper", WSAI was barely audible through this signal
(which resembled RTTY somewhat). The time is consistent with dawn

HUGE 'shortwave-quality' signal (way o/ all others and as good as
most of the big high-band domestics): news about Boris Yeltsin's
recent radio address on the state of Russia's economy. Announcer
periodically dropped in "This is the Voice of America" between news

1530 VATICAN, R. Vaticana, MAR 1 0450 & 0541 - on an evening which
had just about everything but WSAI atop 1530, this one took its turn
for over an hour. Hungarian was noted blasting in at 0450 w/ only
little bits of VOA & WSAI under. At 0541, FF talk came in just as

1539 GERMANY, ERF, Mainflingen, MAR 1 0444 - mellow instrumental
music, then man in FF; to good peaks o/ SER Spain. The regeneration
box helped to pull this by pest WDCD. [Connelly-B-MA]

mostly u/ Germany. For a few seconds, it actually topped the channel
