A couple of weeks ago we were advised that "RADIO FREE LONDON"
had had problems with their 3945 khz Transmitter.

Andy from RFLWS advised us on 25/2/97:
>>The problem has been sorted.
It was a bad earth on the mod-socket of the rig, so hopefully we will
have the two transmitters on air this coming weekend as usual for our
1st Sunday broadcast ( NOW PAST - ed)
We installed an aerial at a new site on Saturday so hopefully we will up
the power over the next few weeks on 6.4 MHz to about 90 watts <<

3945 and 6400 khz in parallel.

KIWI RADIO has had a lot of people wanting to receive the KIWI RADIO
WEEKLY, and we have a very long mailing list - over 350 names so far
covering all parts of the world, from Russia to Africa, New Zealand to
Alaska, from South America to Europe, and The Pacific to Asia.
If you know someone that wants their name added, please get them to
contact us at:

Something a litte different arrived from the WA Merriman.

In the past few days two new TIS stations operating from Dallas-Fort
Worth, Texas Airport have shown up on these two frequencies ( 1640 &
1680 khz ) .Signals very strong over the Eastern USA - in fact the
signal strength would seem to indicate the use of more power, or a much
more efficient antenna than is usual with this type of station.
These are so strong that they at least have a chance at making it to
Europe, and maybe beyond. Check them out - 1640 & 1680 khz.
I have no info on address, and maybe you can get the programming when
you hear them.

>From Mikel Air of WCMR Radio in germany comes this request:

>>I am Mikel Air, the DJ of WORLD CHANGE MISSION RADIO, W.C.M.R.
WCMR plays another style of music, very different to the style of today.
Very nice relaxation music, music to get to your mind.

I NEED female DJ's for this station. Females Only, because the nature is
very important to WCMR. Woman understand the nature much better then
men.
Music programmes are very appreciated from these women, but also reports
about the environment and nature.
They can work either temporarily or forever for the station.
Please take into consideration that WCMR is a hobby station, and cannot
pay money, but you'll never know what will happen in the future.
Please support this wonderful idea, and write to WCMR, Box 220342,
D-42373 Wuppertal, Germany.
Email can be sent to: schoechi@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
<<<
( Ed's note: This is the way we recieved it from WCMR, and while we
don't agree with some comments - we will not CENSOR other peoples
comments.)

Something that has recently come to hand here in New Zealand has to do
with LOW POWERED FM stations.
I came across "by Accident" a low-powered FM station operating on 88.60,
and 100.60 MHz.operating here in Napier, New Zealand.
After further investigation I managed to talk with the operator called
"AJ" who told me about his stations. Both operate legally "without" a
transmitting licence with 180 mw , boosted to 300 mw ERP by his antenna.
It seems that the 88 - 89 MHz, and the 100 - 101 MHz FM range has been
de-regulated for LOW-powered operations.
Note that the transmitters have to pass the close scrutiny of the Radio
Check at the Dept of Commerces Radio Inspection Branch, for stabilaty,
possible interferance to other services etc.
"AJ" had only to get a license from the Music/Recording industry to
broadcast music .
"AJ" calls his stations Hawke's Bay's Magic, and is a hobby station
only, with NO commercials.

SO There is hope for KIWI RADIO yet !!
We are looking into this whole issue, and will report back soon with
more exact details etc, as well as the LEGAL situation re these Legal
low-powered FM stations.
I can say that "AJ's" 300mw ERP covers Napier Very well.

KIWI Radio is trying to establish a WWW page at Geocities, and we are
having difficulty doing this - the uploading of files is not going as it
should. We are working on this problem at the moment.

We have two files saved, and not lost, so if you want to have a look at
the page then go to:
		http://www.geocities.com/CapeCanaveral/9885/k2a..html

PLEASE note that the Mailing referances are NOT working yet, as this is
a Saved file only.
We need to be able to upload it to the main system to get it working, as
well as make a couple of adjustments - so please bear with us.
We hope to have the situation fixed this week. - That is what "experts"
are for !!.

If you know of any other "FREE" host sites that will carry WWW pages,
please let us know - Thanks.

		*********************************************

KIWI Radio will be on air over Easter, and we will advise next week of
the stations being relayed.

We are expecting programmes to arrive from both South American Free
Radio stations, Radio Pirana Int, and Radio Cochiguaz very soon, so that
the Pacific and Asia can hear what these two stations are all about.

We also have programming coming from other stations as well..
If you haven't sent us a programme, PLEASE do so, and we will endeavour
to Air it in the Near future. ( our Address is:
KIWI RADIO, P O BOX 3103, ONEKAWA, NAPIER, NEW ZEALAND.)
