Hi Friends,

received a long e-Mail from Mr. Jim Bender, CE of KGA Spokane, WA, 1510
kHz. He told me, that he had posted my QSL today :-))
Jim is *VERY* friendly to DXers, he is a DXer himself and now KGA is
certainly one of the best verifiers in the world, after being "black" for
ages. If you send him a report, please enclose either one US Dollar or 2
IRC's for the postage. Jim is very interested in receiving taped reports
from extraordinary long distances, like Europe. And mention your e-Mail
address, he'll contact you!

Some excerpts from the mail might be interesting for you:

> BTW, somewhere in the mail should be an old report from early 96.

In the nearly six months I have been here, I have not found any of the old
DX Reports. I believe they have been thrown in the trash. The first few
DX Reports I did find around the time of my arrival had been opened,
but many had been separated, the envelope from the letter and other
contents. I managed to grab the others as they came in to insure that they
were handled properly.

On the subject of this Spokane project: We are moving KGA and KJRB to a
new transmitting site six miles south of Spokane. The new installation
will have five towers, shared by the two stations. KGA will use two towers
during the day, and two different towers at night. KJRB will use three
towers during the day, and four towers at night. Not only is this a big
project, but a very complex one, as well. When completed, both stations
will have different radiation patterns than formerly. This will make them
both "new" stations, in terms of DX. Though I'm not sure how much
influence I will have here after the project is done, I would like to
conduct several special DX tests in December and
January, and to issue a special DX certificate for the new
transmission facility.
