Talk about dumb luck. Walked in here to read the e-mail that alerted me to its presence, read Sean's message, turned on the 2m FM rig, and heard the "beep... beep..." on 145.820 at 1900-1906 UT 3 Nov. The signal lit up 2 (of 7) LEDs, full quieting on the pass overhead without the pre-amp. I have a G7 vertical at 50 feet.

It isn't quite the thrill when I heard the first Sputnik in 1957, beeping away on 20 and 40 megacycles... using a Hallicrafters 8R40 that tuned continously through 54... but nevertheless glad to hear it. Apparently this pass was a high angle, some 30-40 degrees above the horizon.

Assuming it follows Mir, use these two URLs to get an idea of where Mir is located (J-track) and the precise timing for your horizon (J-pass). I checked... after hearing the signal fade out... and it matched the NASA data.
