Appears to be irregular now. Nothing from Chad on 4904.5. Seemed Central
African Rep. was on again 5035 w/extremely weak modulation. Hrd prior to

and gave sked at 2058. Somewhat weak but readable. Gone at 2102 recheck.

Indo; fairly strong, though choppy and splattered by REE/11815. ---HILL,

2230- 9650.34- URUGUAY- Emisora Ciudad de Montevideo (CX42 relay),
Montevideo,  2230-0010 Nov 23/24, very weak audio detectable after 2230*
of presumed North Korea signal on 9650; on extended sked again although
not a sports event. Mostly talk by man in Spanish w/occasional
interventions by a woman and several ads/jingles. Signal improving after
2245, and dramatically-so to fairly good level by 2257 with pgme anmts.
No pips at 2300 but clear canned ID with frequencies at 2300:30,
bracketed by instrumental theme. Another ID at 2301:30 then shouting
male anncr seemed to signal start of a soccer game - not so, but perhaps
a sports commentary. Good signal level cont'd to about 2340 (no time pip
on half-hour) with fast paced male anncr. This format continued across
2400 without time signal or break for ID. Signal started downhill after
2340, then audio faded out completely by 0010 (WWV on 5 MHz, strong at
2318, was barely readable at 0018). Nov 23rd A index = 47. SODRE
carrier, not present at 2230, was on w/fair strength by 2245 on 9622.45
recheck but never quite made it to audio. ---CLARK, Ont Canada

INDONESIA - The interval signal of RRI Ujung Pandang which was seen
before local news was changed. (Juichi Yamada, JAPAN/ Jembatan DX # 36)

INDONESIA - The local news of RRI Tanjungkarang was changed from 1630 to
1645. (Juichi Yamada, JAPAN / Jembatan DX # 36)

LIBERIA - There is little chance that the VOA relay in Liberia will
resume operations. However, missionaries of the Sudan Interior Mission
said that religious shortwave station ELWA in Liberia will soon be back
on the air. This is because the poitical situation in Liberia has
stabilised. Initially, they will use a 275 Watt transmitter. ELWA was
twice taken off the air and its equipment damaged. destroyed or stolen
during the civil war in Liberia. Before the troubles in Liberia ELWA has
three shortwave transmitters and an extensive schedule to all parts of
Africa in at least eight languages (Communications World, 22/11 via Mick
Ogrizek / EDXP # 68 and ). 

LIBERIA - ELWA, Monrovia : According to two key SIM missionaries
featured on Moody Broadcasting Network's "Prime Time America" on 18
November, ELWA will soon be on the air again from Monrovia, Liberia.
Initially SIM is planning to install a new 275-Watt FM transmitter. The
political situation in Liberia is relatively stable again, and SIM
decided to go ahead with the project. There is a damaged 10 kW SW
transmitter (ex 4760) which needs to be worked on, and an antenna to be
erected. There is no target date for return to SW. (Colin Miller,
