MEXICO
900 kHz, UNID, 0523 UTC 6-Jan-98, Talks about rehabilitaion of drug
addicts and alcoholics, mentioning Mazatlan, Sinaloa, and then
mentioning Ciudad de Mexico. Too much noise to identify. SIO:232

NICARAGUA
1440 kHz, R Maranatha, 0540 UTC 6-Jan-98, Christian music, canned IDs as
"Radio Maranatha", time check, then at 0540 full ID "Atravesamos valles,
campos y ciudades para llevarles el mensaje de salvación. Radio
Maranatha".  Signal very strong S-8 to S-9, but very deep fading.
However, the audio is excellent.  Heard until 0600* but no ID or station
address at s/off. (Escoto, Jan.6)

JAMAICA
720 kHz, R RJ? (couldn't hear last letter, sorry), 0620 UTC 7-Jan-98,
Talking w/listener through the telephone. Good signal, S-7, reception
quite clear as local R Eco on 740 kHz is an empty carrier (no splatter)

COLOMBIA
890 kHz, R Galeón, Santa Marta, 0732 UTC 7-Jan-98, Talks, music,
commercial announcements such as "ColSeguros, Banco Nacional", etc.
Fair-poor SINPO 32222 (Escoto, Jan.7)

HONDURAS
3250 kHz, R Luz y Vida, San Luis, Santa Barbara, 0258 UTC 10-Jan-98,
religious programming, program "Llaves para vivir con exito" ending,
then Billy Graham's program. Audio is overmodulated. SINPO 55544
(Escoto, Jan.10)

PERU
4790 kHz, R Atlántida, Iquitos, 0320 UTC 14-Jan-98, Talks about Caja
Rural Selva Peruana, apparently a bank which was being used to launder
money. The program is called "Enfoque de la Verdad", it's a news
program. Announcements from Universidad de la Amazonia Peruana, and
other local and regional news. Fair. SINPO 35333 (Escoto, Jan.14)

ECUADOR
4535 kHZ, UNID, 0100-0110 UTC, 18-Jan-98. Program with comunicados, with
heavy QRM from UTE station. Some andean music. I assume it's Ecuador
because they mentioned Cutervo, Lajas, and other Ecuadorian cities. Too
weak to identify SINPO 22321 (Escoto, Jan.18)

GREECE
15485 kHz, Voice of Greece, Spanish program, 1815-1830 UTC 18-Jan-98. 
Comment about the current situation between Greece and Turkey, then news
bulletin, until 1830*. SINPO 55444 (Escoto, Jan.18)

COSTA RICA
9645 kHz, Faro del Caribe, spanish, 2214-2229 UTC 18-Jan-98. End of
program "La Hora Nazarena", then into concert-like potpourri singing of
christian songs until 2229 UTC. Very Good SINPO 55544 (Escoto, Jan.18)

NORTH KOREA
13760 kHZ R Pyongyang, spanish, 0000-0022 UTC 19-Jan-98. Interval
signal, then ID, news bulletin mentioning the Great Comrade a myriad of
times, political commentaries, talking about reunification of the
Koreas, and Korean songs. Fair-weak. SINPO 35222 (Escoto, Jan.19)

IRAN
9650 kHz V.O.Iran, spanish, 0055-0120 UTC 19-Jan-98. With a report from
Chile talking about the moslem community in Chile, then a special
program commemorating Ramadhan month, and the anniversary of the
tortures suffered by Holy Man, then into  press review, and finally the
program "Jesus y Maria en el Islam". Good. SINPO 53534 (Escoto, Jan.19)
