Robert Wien - San Jose CA - rjwmail@xxxxxxxxx

KCWW-1580 Tempe, AZ. is going Radio Disney Monday 7/27 per radio &
    records website.

700 Utah may now be KWLW, and KXOL-1660 Brigham City, UT. should be on
air any day now (7/28??).

***

Per tip from Dennis Gibson, KTMS Santa Barbara (1250) is changing call
letters to KEYT 'sometime before Monday', per Dennis. There goes a
long-kept set of calls out the window...

Also there's a report of an unid. on 1660 carrying Art Bell u/WBAH by
Shawn Axelrod. Anyone know who this might be?? Whoever it is, it's
new (and I don't think it's Utah cause they weren't on last night!)

 THE "X" BAND

*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*

JD Stephens - jdstephens@xxxxxxxx

Per the Topband Reflector (http://www.contesting.com/topband.html), one
of the DFW flight info transmitters (likely 1680) was causing parasitic
signals on about 1835 kHz in the 160 metre band, heard out to the east
coast. A note from Joe Blair at DFW to W8JI on July 15, 1998 said the
transmitters would be off air until the problem was resolved.>>

Evidently the problem has been fixed as the DFW TIS stations heard here
in North Alabama las night (7-22).

G'day from sunny Queensland,

I've had some success with logs this past week on the x band from my
other DX site in the Noosa Shire north of Brisbane.

Conditions tend to be patchy though.
Last thursday I was fortuneate to get

1640 KDIA on music. But some Aussie splash from 1638
1650 KTTR on traffic and motor vehicle insurance. Calls itself 'Kay
        Traffic'.
1660 WBAH on spanish talk - it it talk back or religious format ??
1670 WNML on sports talk many mention's of ESPN.
1680 only a slight beat - no audio.
1690 Radio Disney with kids format and oldies pops for kids like :
        "My friend the witch doctor".

Questions :

  What is KXOL's format on 1660 ?
What address should I use for Radio Disney (KAYK) 1690 ? same as the
old KQXI ??
Is WBAH the only one on 1660 with spanish ?? What would you class its
spanish format - talk ; religious; pops ??
Is WNML the only station on1670 with sports talk and linked to ESPN?
