Your luck sounds as good as mine.  We have a 5 kw med. wave stinky little
a.m. station that puts spurs all over the shortwave band and have to use
filters on the receiver to eliminate the problem.   People have tried
knocking the antenna down a number of times and still in business.  And as
luck would have  it, lightning for some reason has never hit it yet.
