R7A vs. R7 differences are:

Noise blanker NB7A was included in R7A, optional in R7
More crystal filter installed in R7A at factory (.5 kHZ CW if I remember
well)
Minor rear panel modifications
a better designed power supply (BOTH power supply are solid state!),
with reduced VLF radiation

Both R7 and R7A have digital frequency readout installed.

I bought my second-hand R7A at Friedrichshafen HAMRADIO exibition in
1991 for 2,000 DM, in that occasion I saw two more R7A and a R7 units.
Since then I never visited again Friedrichshafen exibition, but I think
it is a very good place to look for R7A, if you want to buy one.

I compared it against R70, R5000 AOR7030, JRC 525 & 535, and never
considered about selling it away...
