[HCDX]: Tinian station

This mystery station, strong from 0930-1000 on 7265/15115 is now good on
17665. This info from Bob Padula's EDXP 103 dated 4 December may provide
some info...

MALAYSIA. Reports that the IBB is setting up a new relay at 
"Tioman" are incorrect! Tioman Island is off the east coast of Peninsular
Malaysia, which was one of the places I visited on my return from Europe in
September last. The actual place is "Tinian Island", 15.00N 145.38E, very
close to  Saipan, Marianas Islands. Six 500 kW SW txers are being set up
there transferred from the Gloria / Lisbon IBB site in Portugal. Will be
used for V of Free Asia into China and SEA. First broadcasts are planned
for April 1999. No doubt, "Tioman" will be disseminated across the DXing
community in error!

Still no IDs heard here in Australia.
